23-year-old Jacob Grava was charged with driving under the influence after driving a reported 105 miles per hour on Interstate 40. Grava would later confess to having consumed five beers before getting behind the wheel.
On June 13th, Officer Fulton was informed of a speeding vehicle on Interstate 40 in Mt. Juliet. Fulton observed a vehicle traveling at approximately 105 miles per hour shortly thereafter. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Jacob Grava. According to the affidavit, Grava was emitting an alcoholic scent from his person, had a slurred manner of speaking, and appeared to have bloodshot eyes.
Further questioning would reveal that Grava drank five beers before driving. Fulton proceeded to administer field sobriety tests, to which Grava displayed signs of inebriation throughout. Grava was then placed into custody for driving under the influence, serving as his first offense for such.
Jacob Grava was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. His bond was set at $1,000.
