Car shot at and drove into ditch; woman found with 74 grams of cocaine

32-year-old Darlene Weevie was charged with possession of cocaine with intent and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia after her car was shot at and she crashed into a ditch.

On October 8th, police responded to a call about shots being fired at 4601 Packard Drive. When they arrived, they found a Nissan Altima that crashed into a ditch and security officers and spoke with them to see what happened. The security officers told them three people ran from the car after it had been shot at and crashed.

While investigating the scene, Darlene Weevie returned to the car and told officers she was one of the people in the car before the shooting occurred. She also told officers the car was not hers, but she did have two bags still in the car. During a search of the vehicle, two bags of a white powdery substance were found that weighed 45.5 grams and 28.5 grams, along with a glass pipe and a small scale.

Darlene Weevie was arrested and charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine with intent. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
