Man uses his ID to pawn a stolen leaf blower at Cash America

36-year-old Alan Hatcher was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and theft after he was caught pawning a stolen leaf blower at Cash America.

On September 16th, employees with ERMC Landscaping reported an Echo leaf blower was stolen from their truck on Steffisburg Drive near Zermatt Avenue. According to the affidavit, the company was working on a property when the commercial-grade blower was taken from the back of one of their trucks.

Employees were able to provide Metro Nashville Police with the serial number on the equipment. Approximately 30 minutes later, Alan Hatcher pawned the stolen blower at Cash America located at 4537 Nolensville Pike. The leaf blower was confirmed by the serial number to belong to ERMC. Hatcher used his Tennessee ID to pawn the blower that was valued at around $400.

On September 30th, Alan Hatcher was arrested and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and theft. He was later freed on pretrial release.
