Deatric Woods decided to run, so Sergeant Grega and Sergeant Mendenhall chased him on foot. They stated while they were pursuing Woods, they heard a metallic object hit the ground. After Woods was in custody, Officer Kaleb Stella retraced the route of the foot pursuit and located a SCCY CPX with seven rounds in the magazine and one round in the chamber. The firearm serial number came back stolen out of Murfreesboro, and it was revealed that Woods did not possess a carry permit.

Deatric Woods was arrested and charged with theft of property under $1,000, evading arrest, and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was released on a $5,500 bond.
