Woman accuses boyfriend of giving her COVID, trashes his clothes while he’s jailed for assault

27-year-old Jordan Howard was charged with domestic assault and 27-year-old Destiny Bowie was charged with theft when Jordan returned home from jail after a domestic incident and discovered that Destiny had thrown all his clothes away.

On November 22nd, Metro Nashville Police officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance at 1430 Bell Road, Whetstone Flats. According to the affidavit, when officers arrived, they spotted Destiny Bowie outside of the apartment, she informed officers her boyfriend, Jordan Howard, was inside. She claimed she and Jordan got into a verbal altercation regarding Covid-19.

Destiny had tested positive and told her boyfriend she believed he gave it to her. Jordan became violent and started hitting her. She said this caused her to fall to the ground and Jordan placed his foot on her chest. She had noticeable injuries to her head, arms, and chest that corroborated her statement. Officers also spoke with Jordan, who claimed Destiny was in his face during a verbal disagreement and he shoved her to create space between them. He claimed they wrestled, but did not admit to striking her. Jordan was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody.

On November 24, Metro Nashville Police responded to a theft. According to the affidavit, Jordan Howard arrived back at his home from jail and noticed all his clothing was missing. He contacted Destiny Bowie who admitted to throwing his property in the garbage. Destiny arrived at the residence and told officers she was upset at Jordan for the previous domestic incident and since Jordan did not have anyone to pick up his belongings, she assumed he did not want them. She could not recall what specifically she had thrown away other than clothing items and shoes. Jordan claimed the total value of the items was over $2,500. Destiny was then taken into custody without further incident.

Jordan Howard was arrested and charged with domestic assault causing bodily injury. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

Destiny Bowie was arrested and charged with theft of property. She was released on a $2,000 bond.
