34-year-old Trovaski Holt was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Sunday after his boyfriend showed police the injuries on his neck, alleging that Holt trapped him in a closet, pushed him against a wall, and strangled him. The boyfriend, Andrew Comerford, was also arrested on two outstanding warrants for violating his probation.
Metro Nashville Police responded to the apartment of the couple at 5 a.m. Sunday, where they were packing things from a closet in preparation for a move. Andrew told police he was in the closet packing a box when Trovaski stood in the door of the closet to prevent his exit. Not liking the feeling of being confined, Andrew says he placed his hand on Trovask’s chest so he would move aside, at which time Trovaski placed his hand around Andrew’s neck and pushed him into the corner of the closet.
Andrew says Trovaski then placed both hands around his neck and applied pressure until he was no longer able to breathe. Officers documented injuries to Andrew, including photographs of the visible red marks around his neck which they noted were consistent with being strangled. Trovaski told officers they were was just “talking” in the closet, and he left the apartment after being pushed out of the door and is unaware of anything else that is alleged to have happened.
Trovaski Holt, 34, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail at 10:22 a.m. Sunday, charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation. He is free on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in August.
