27-year-old musician Jessica Coppens was booked into the Metro Nasvhille Jail early Tuesday morning after a crash with injuries on East Trinity Lane in Nashville. She initially told police she was at fault for the wreck and admitted to running a red light while looking at her phone. She also admitted to consuming three beers in the four hours prior to driving. Police say she performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and blew over twice the legal limit on the breathalyzer, a 0.176 BAC. She was charged with DUI and is free on pre-trial release.

| On 12/20/2021, at approximately 2327 hours, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident without injuries at 905 East Trinity Lane. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with the defendant. She told officers that she was the driver of a silver Nissan kick and was at fault because she ran the red light because she was on her phone. Upon initial contact, the defendant had the obvious smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from her expelled breath. When asked if she had anything to drink, she said yes. She admitted to officers that she had consumed three beers in the last four hours. The defendant agreed to conduct field sobriety tasks and showed signs of impairment on the HGN and walk and tum. She was placed into custody for DUI and read her Miranda rights and the implied consent law and consented to a breath test. She was transported to booking, where the test took place, and the final result was .176 G/21 OL. |
