DUI: David Randazzo drives through person’s backyard, tells officers he “had a little bit” to drink

41-year-old David Randazzo was taken into custody for an open container violation, an implied consent violation, and driving under the influence-2nd offense on April 26th. On April 25th, around 10:00 p.m., officers received a call regarding a person, later identified as Randazzo, driving through their backyard. Upon arrival, officers observed him driving away from the location. Officers then conducted an investigatory stop, where they noticed Randazzo reeked of alcohol. When asked by officers if he had consumed any alcohol, Randazzo advised that he “had a little bit.” He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and after being read implied consent, agreed to provide a blood sample. After being transported to Nashville General Hospital for the blood draw, Randazzo revoked his consent, prompting officers to obtain a search warrant for his blood. Officers then discovered he had a prior DUI charge from Michigan in 2017. Officers located two open containers during an inventory search of his vehicle. Randazzo was detained for the incident.
