Jessica Douglas, the now locally famous ‘East Nashville Package Thief’ appeared in court today in front of Judge Melissa Blackburn. She plead guilty to ‘Theft, $1,000 or less’, and was sentenced to ‘Time Served’ which equated to 6 days in jail. Douglas will also have to pay $686.00 in court costs and $150 in restitution. As of 2PM, Douglas’ custody status was updated to indicate she was in the process of being released from custody, and should be free sometime this afternoon. Jessica Douglas, who spent her 30th birthday in jail on Sunday, had a prior conviction locally at Cool Springs Mall in May of 2014. She committed a theft (under $500) from the Macy’s at Cool Springs Galleria, for which she signed a ‘conditional’ guilty plea in August of 2014. Bret Rideout, the owner of Rideout Repairs & Renovations (which was dissolved last month by the state and is no longer legally operating), and his employee, Sean Durham, were both arrested early Saturday for Thefts that happened earlier in the week.
