Dairy King’s owner is hopeful for a buyer to keep the “icon of Woodbine” alive. Jeff and Carolyn Jones announced via Facebook that Dairy King on East Thompson Lane will close operations on August 3rd. The 50-year-old business has suffered since COVID-19 disrupted life in March.

After a week long investigation, this morning East Nashville News submitted a long list of proposed violations and supporting documentation to the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission & related agents, for the express purpose of supporting the removal of the liquor license of Cloud IX, LLC, due to mismanagement. Per MNPD, the security guards who fired in the deadly Cloud IX shooting have claimed they shot in self defense. They said they were involved in a verbal argument inside the hookah bar with McClain when he was asked to leave. They fired outside when he was alleged to have shot at them. Robert Baker was arrested on Thursday morning, and charged with felony theft and violation of probation. The theft charge stems from a 12/02 incident in which Baker was working for a moving company that was hired to pack some things for the victim/resident. The victim posted on social media about the theft: Baker remains in jail. We’ve covered the struggles of the residents of The Cleo in East Nashville before, even mentioned the ‘doggy poop’ problem with photos. Now, The Cleo’s maintenance person says he “just can’t keep up” with all the dog poop inside the building. Cleo maintenance, Bob Miller, says: “We go around daily and pick it up.. Sometimes I feel that I just can’t keep up! It truly is disgusting, and absolutely absurd that the people that live in the building don’t pick up after their dogs. After all it is their home.”…
