29-year-old Joseph Blakely is currently held in a Nashville jail in lieu of a $5,250 bond after being arrested at the DMV on Hart Lane late Monday afternoon, and then vandalizing the back of a patrol car.

Police say Blakely was drunk and irate at the DMV, and threatened to assault the staff. When he refused to leave and continued to harass the staff and others at the location, he was taken into custody for public intoxication. He was transported to East Precinct to be placed into another officer’s vehicle for transport downtown to booking. When he was taken out of one vehicle and place into another, he began to attempt to kick out the back window of the patrol vehicle, and kicked the door frame so much that it bent.
