Lachrisha Poynter visited MNPD’s Family Safety Center on May 17th to report that her girlfriend, Moneice Jackson, asked her for marijuana to smoke, and when she refused to provide it, grabbed her torso and threw a TV remote control at her, striking her on the lip. After the warrant was signed, she went back to her home, where her girlfriend was staying with her and called 911 to report a person was there with a warrant and needed to be picked up.
Police responded to the shared home at 601 Hickory Hollow Terrace in an attempt to serve the warrant, and the caller (and girlfriend), Lachrisha Poynter, allowed officers into the home to make contact with her lover, Moneice Jackson. As police entered, they noticed shattered glass all over the living room and kitchen. Poynter says it wasn’t there when she left the home, and that Moneice must have shattered it while he was away. Moneice, however, says that Lachrisha shattered the “couple of dishes” herself before she left the house and returned to call the police.
Officers found Moneice Jackson, hiding under a bed in the home. She pulled away from officers while they were attempting to take her into custody, and pushed back when they tried to place her in the cage of the patrol vehicle, sitting on the ground and refusing to cooperate. Officers eventually carried her up and into the car and placed her in the back seat.
Moneice Jackson is charged with domestic assault, as officers did observe bruising on the girlfriend’s torso, where she allegedly grabbed her, and for the throwing of the remote control. She was additionally charged with vandalism and resisting arrest. She remains jailed in lieu of a $4,500 bond as of press time.
