45-year-old Monica Mae Hopkins was jailed on April 18th after reports of a woman vomiting in the parking lot outside of her white Jeep in the early hours of April 18th. When NFD responded, Hopkins refused medical treatment. Upon arrival, officers noticed she was still in the driver’s seat of her Jeep, which was running, and as they approached, they saw empty alcoholic beverages and a handgun near her glove compartment.
Hopkins appeared confused when officers asked her what today’s date was, so they prompted her with sobriety tests, which she consented to and performed poorly. Hopkins then admitted to having a few drinks and being intoxicated. Hopkins was transported to Nashville General for clearance and then was taken into custody for driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and an open container violation.
Monica Mae Hopkins of Westcreek Road in Newburn, NC, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on April 18th, charged with weapon under the influence, open container violation, and driving under the influence. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $3,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave her pre-trial release from their facility.
