DUI: Gregory Boyd doesn’t realize his car is sitting in the middle of an intersection

34-year-old Gregory Boyd was sitting in his vehicle with the lights off at the Gallatin Pike and Kirkland Avenue intersection late May 12th. Officers observed that the car was not running and turned around to check on it, during which they noticed a male, later identified as Boyd, exit the car and open the hood. They activated their blue lights, approached him, and discovered his car was not working, explaining why he was stopped. He provided them with his ID and later admitted to drinking before driving his car, so they prompted him with sobriety tests, to which he consented and performed poorly. He was visibly upset and told them that he was “just trying to get someone to pick him up,” insisting that his vehicle was still parked in the parking lot, even though it was in the street. Boyd declined to provide a blood sample and was then taken into custody for an implied consent violation and driving under the influence.

DUI: Mecca Johnson tells officers she “lost count” after drinking at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar

24-year-old Mecca Johnson was taken into custody for driving under the influence on May 11th. Officers arrived to back up another unit when they witnessed Johnson exit her vehicle and walk over to her cousin, who they were speaking with. They pulled her to the side and asked her “what was going on,” to which she said she was there to pick up her cousins. She reeked of alcohol and exhibited signs of inebriation. Officers asked Ms. Johnson how much she had to drink, and she replied that she didn’t know because she had lost count after drinking at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop bar. She took sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Melvin Houston sends sex tape to woman’s boyfriend

28-year-old Melvin Houston was taken into custody for two counts of unlawful exposure. Houston had taken consensual videos with a female during past sexual encounters. She reported that they agreed that the footage would remain private, but on August 30th, 2023, Mychael Carney, her boyfriend, received two of those videos from a number later identified as Houston’s. He was taken into custody on May 15th for the occurrence.

Manishkumar Kadiya refuses to leave the Greyhound bus station

37-year-old Manishkumar Kadiya refused to leave the Greyhound Bus Station on Representative John Lewis Way South late May 14th. Upon arrival, staff members pointed him out to officers, advising them that they told him to leave the premises, but he disregarded them. Officers explained to Kadiya that he would be charged with trespassing if he refused to leave the location. They escorted him off the property, and he told them he had nowhere to go, adding that he would return to the bus station once his bus was loading. Officers left and observed him walk back to the station and sit up against the wall on the outside. They confirmed that the location had an active trespass waiver on file. Kadiya was taken into custody for criminal trespass.

Jason Ranger assaults his wife for not getting out of the kitchen when he said

43-year-old Jason Ranger had a domestic altercation with his wife, Angel Ranger, at their Charlotte Pike residence on May 4th. Angel told officers that when she returned from work, she went into the kitchen to make something to eat, which was when he told her to get out because he was cleaning. She told him that she was hungry and wasn’t going to leave the kitchen, which sparked a loud and aggressive argument. Jason then picked Angel up and carried her out of the room while she kicked and screamed for him to put her down. While being carried, Angel kicked an object in the kitchen, causing Jason to fall, resulting in Angel landing on one leg. She added that her knee had swollen from the impact to the point where she had to miss work. Jason was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault on May 14th.

Brianna Bidstrup gets kicked out of Stevie Nicks concert

33-year-old Brianna Morrell Bidstrup caused a disturbance at the Stevie Nicks Concert in Bridgestone Arena on May 14th. Staff members advised officers that when they asked her to leave, she became angry and started yelling and cursing at them. Officers noticed that she showed signs of impairment, reeking of alcohol, and needed their assistance to stand upright. Bidstrup was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Eder Cordero Altamirano records himself raping a 14-year-old girl

18-year-old Eder Uriel Cordero Altamirano was taken into custody for sexual exploitation of a minor and statutory rape on May 14th. Eder met a 14-year-old female through mutual friends earlier in the year. On February 17th, shortly after midnight, he picked her up and brought her to his Mercury Drive residence, where he recorded the two having consensual intercourse. The victim denied being aware that Eder was recording. On May 10th, during an interview, Altamirano admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse, recording it, and sending it to the 14-year-old. He is four years, five months, and three days older than her. He was detained for the incident.

Gabriel Jones assaults his cousin on 7th Avenue

25-year-old Gabriel Jeremiah Jones had a domestic incident with his cousin, Cameron Jayshone Johnson, near the First Baptist Church parking lot on 7th Avenue South in the early hours of May 11th. Multiple people flagged officers down, requesting assistance. When officers arrived, they spoke with Jones, who stated that after Johnson had an altercation with an unidentified individual, he became aggressive with him as well. He explained that Johnson put his hands up, trying to calm him down, so he grabbed him, which caused him to fall to the ground, leaving visible injuries on his arms and knees. Officers noticed both parties were intoxicated but deemed Jones as the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Chrisopher Bean repeatedly asks to be arrested after being kicked out of Tootsies Orchid Lounge

27-year-old Chrisopher Bean attempted to re-enter Tootsies Orchid Lounge after being removed in the later hours of May 12th. Security for the establishment flagged officers down, and when police arrived, they repeatedly advised Bean to return to his hotel or walk away. Then, Bean stated he wanted to go to jail and put his hands out to be arrested. Officers told Bean they did not want to take him to jail and that he needed to leave the area. Then, Bean called his lawyer while telling officers, “Just arrest me,” and started walking toward the bar with his hands behind his back while telling officers, “Take me to jail.” Bean was taken into custody for public intoxication. While in custody, Bean could not remember anything and continuously asked why he was under arrest for DUI. Bean also called one of the officers “Baby“,” and changed his story of” and changed his story about what was happening multiple times.

Howard Lawson threatens wife with machete during argument, tells police he “got rid of it”

57-year-old Howard Maurice Lawson had a domestic incident with his wife, Etrenda Alston, at their Greens Circle Cypress Creek apartment on May 11th. When officers arrived, Alston advised them that she and Lawson argued, during which he pulled out a machete, causing her to fear for her life and call the police. Lawson told officers that he did pull out the machete during the argument, but only to clean it, not to harm “his wife of 30 years of marriage.” Officers asked him where he put the weapon, to which he said he “got rid of it.” Lawson was taken into custody for domestic assault.
