Over the weekend the Nashville Fire Marshal’s Office received complaints in reference to exits being blocked as well as only utilizing one exit for all staff members and customers, as an attempt to practice social distancing. They say ALL exits must remain unrestricted during business hours.
One inmate has tested positive for COVID-19 in a Metro Nashville jail. 53 additional inmates who were in the same unit are now quarantined.
In Mayor John Cooper’s morning COVID19 briefing, it was announced that Nashville now has 1,034 confirmed cases of COVID19 in the Metro area.
Police say 33-year-old Brendan Negron, of Mt. Juliet, assaulted his wife with a barstool, and his fists, after she refused to leave his home. His wife works in a hospital as a P.A., and he was afraid his children would contract the Coronavirus from someone she had been in contact with.
Montgomery County Tennessee Mayor Jim Durrett recently told his constituents that COVID-19 was just a strain of the flu, suggesting the “-19” designation meant this was our 19th time experiencing this, and overall downplaying the impact of the virus, noting that most deaths were in nursing homes. Montgomery County has 6 confirmed Cases of Coronavirus, as of Tuesday.
