Ben Folds Five frontman and pianist, Benjamin Scott Folds filed this week to divorce his wife, Australian ballet dancer Emma Sandall, after six years of marriage, stating irreconcilable differences in the pleadings. Under a proposed marital dissolution agreement, Folds will be required to pay her a lump sum of $475,000 for any interest she has in their Nashville home. Active shooter arrested inside St. Thomas Midtown Hospital with multiple magazines of ammo

#BREAKING: Metro Nashville Police responded to an active shooter a St. Thomas Midtown Hospital early Saturday after multiple calls were received of shots fired from inside the hospital. Security advised they heard two shots fired from inside a stairwell, and the gunman was now on the fourth level of the stairs after having entered through a back door to the hospital. Officers located and confronted the man, identified as 33-year-old Nicholas Zaayenga, who was eventually taken into custody. He was armed and had multiple magazines of ammunition in his possession, and was firing at in interior door when he was located. Multiple bullet casings were located in the same area. [His mugshot was not immediately available due to the weekend timing of the incident]

Nashville Police Officer held in a Mexican jail after bringing a handgun into the country

BREAKING: Metro Nashville Police Officer Lemandries ‘LD’ Deshun Hawes is currently being held in a jail in Mexico after bringing a handgun into the country on July 9th. He reportedly declared the personally owned pistol with the airline, however, it is still a federal crime to bring any handgun or ammunition into the country, with a standard sentence of 5 years imprisonment if found guilty. Lemandries is scheduled to have a hearing in Mexico today. Hawes was scheduled to be married on July 8th, and was arrested on the evening of July 9th in Cancun as he landed at the airport to celebrate his honeymoon with Khristian Hawes. Hawes was a lateral transfer from the Memphis Police Department. This is a developing story.

First Monkeypox case in Nashville; patient returned from out-of-country

The Metro Public Health Department (MPHD), in coordination with the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH), is investigating a case of monkeypox virus infection. Testing confirmed an orthopoxvirus infection, with confirmatory testing to be done at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.) The case is an individual who recently traveled to a country that has reported monkeypox cases.

Clarksville vice-principal Garry Chadwell forced teen to penetrate him sexually, per rape indictment

49-year-old Kenwood High School Assistant Principal & Athletic Director Garry James Chadwell was jailed Tuesday evening, charged with forcing a 17-year-old to penetrate him sexually. The indictment, a copy of which is in the story, alleges one count of forcing the child to penetrate him without the child’s consent, and another count of adding the statutory rape charge. The incident occurred on January 22, 2022.

Emmanuel Gordon begged “Please don’t shoot!!” as Kezachary Horsly pulled the trigger, killing him

A witness reported that a Kezachary Horsley exited a vehicle, charged at Emmanuel Gordon, and opened fire as Gordon begged, “please don’t shoot!” — At the time of the murder, Horsley was free on bond in regard to a number of charges, including aggravated robbery for allegedly pulling a gun on Gordon as he rode his bicycle and robbing him of $8 on September 18, 2020. The motive for the murder is believed to be tied to Gordon’s assistance in prosecuting Horsley.

After fleeing from Smyrna Police’s traffic stop, he took MNPD on a chase through the city in his Nissan Maxima from a Nolensville Rd Kroger through Antioch where he tossed out a safe with a large sum of money, all the way to Richard Jones Rd and Villa Place, all while being tracked by AirONE. Police would eventually recover 8 pounds of marijuana, 1.4 Kilos of Xanax, 324 LSD stamps, 62 grams of liquid THC, 243 grams of THC wax in 9 jars, and 88 grams of crystal meth. His mugshot was not immediately available before publication.

55-year-old Gregory Robert Shea, who is one of the owners of the Roux in downtown Clarksville was arrested Sunday night, charged with sexual exploitation of a minor. He is free tonight on a $100,000 bond. Investigators located over 100 images and videos on an iPad inside the restaurant’s office and the owner admitted to “having a problem”.
