Police say they conducted a traffic stop on 37-year-old Musician Brandon Steadman after he used the parking lot of an East Nashville Aldi to cut through and bypass two traffic lights. He was reportedly visibly intoxicated and admitted to drinking prior to driving. He began, then stopped, field sobriety tests, and was taken into custody for DUI, violation of the implied consent law, and driving without a license, as his Texas license expired in 2015.
Police say 37-year-old Judson McKinney was driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street in downtown Nashville this weekend when he came up onto the sidewalk and collided with barricades. He kept telling police “I’m just a musician coming back from a gig” as he attempted to stand on 2nd Avenue. While he was insistent he had only consumed “one drink”, his pupils were largely dilated and non-reactive to light. He failed every attempt at a field sobriety test and refused to speak with officers further. He declined requests for his blood, however, officers obtained a warrant and transported him to Nashville General Hospital prior to being jailed.
Metro Nashville Police responded to an East Nashville home at 4 a.m. Friday after Musician Ryan Wright reported she was taking a shower when a woman (later identified as her friend and fellow musician, 26-year-old Cassidy Ford), was suddenly banging on the bathroom door. Ford was holding an orange knife upside-down in a stabbing position and started swinging it downward attempting to stab Wright. The victim received a two-inch laceration to her tricep before pushing Ford away from her and shutting the door.
Ford fled to a neighbor’s house and called 911, stating there was a woman breaking into her home. When police arrived at the home, Cassidy Ford attempted to prevent officers from entering, stating “I had a bad night, no one else is here besides my friend”. Officers entered the residence and found Wright, injured and still sheltering in the bathroom, in a full state of panic. The knife was located in the kitchen. Cassidy Ford was charged with the felony aggravated assault of her friend and was jailed on a $15,000 bond.
Police say 29-year-old Benjamin Svardahl, who goes by the stage name of ‘Benny James’, failed to move over for lane closures due to a traffic accident on I-40 in the early hours of Sunday morning, and nearly hit two vehicles and one officer, who had to jump over the barrier to avoid Svardahl’s oncoming car. Officers were able to pull him over 2 miles down the road, at mile marker 205, and observed him to be extremely intoxicated, with thick and mumbled speech and the inability to find his wallet, which was in his lap. He claimed to have had “2 draft beers” during his 3.5-hour music gig that had just ended. He blew a 0.211% BAC on a breathalyzer test.
25-year-old musician Connor Lee Hicks was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Thursday night on an outstanding felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault of his wife, Marissa Williams, leaving her with serious bodily injury.
He reportedly headbutted her so hard during an argument she required extensive surgery to repair the damage.
24 -year-old Emma Kathleen Zinck was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Thursday on an outstanding bench warrant stemming from when she failed to appear for her booking date on a driving without a license state citation she received in 2018. She was originally stopped in West Nashville just before midnight with a headlight out when the officer discovered she was driving on a suspended Virginia driver’s license. He issued her a citation, and she never showed up for court. A bench warrant was issued for her arrest in May of 2018 and had been outstanding until yesterday. She was ROR’d from custody.
Police say 23-year-old musician Bitty James Ladd admitted during an interview to punching his friend, Jeffrey Webb, after a night of drinking in downtown Nashville. The assault resulted in two disfigured teeth, pain, and over $10,000 in medical costs. Ladd is charged with felony aggravated assault resulting in serious injury, and is free on a $2,500 bond.
“Yes, of course I grabbed her breasts!”… those are the words 33-year-old Jonathan Sepulveda reportedly said to the victim’s husband when he was confronted about his actions at the Tin Roof Bar on Demonbreun Sunday night. Court records indicate he was a stranger to the victim. Multiple witnesses corroborated the assault and the admission. Sepulveda is free on a $10,000 bond, charged with felony sexual battery.
45-year-old Arthur ‘Arty’ Robinson work at Paradise Park on his motorcycle, and by the time he reached Watertown city limits he was doing 73 in a 45 mph zone, which was the most exciting moment the tiny town of 1500’s police department had for the entire week. After officer Nick Deck made the arrest for DUI, Robinson decided to unleash a verbal assault on Officer Deck, offering to “f— you in the booty”, and detailing what a “sad b—-” the officer was. 31-year-old Brian Elliot Hyken, who performs under the name “Brian Elliot” says he had “3 gin & tonics” at the Pearl Diver in East Nashville before he ran over a curb to collide with shrubbery and a fire hydrant in the early hours of August 31st. He refused a breathalyzer and was charged with DUI. He is free on pre-trial release.
