While Aldridge was in the ambulance, she told officers that she went to an “unknown gay bar” downtown and had two drinks before she attempted to drive home. After they arrived at the hospital, Aldridge performed sobriety tests and demonstrated multiple indicators of intoxication. Officers then read implied consent and informed Aldridge about her Miranda Rights, which she agreed to. During questioning, Aldridge confessed to drinking two whiskey sprites before driving home. Officers searched Aldridge’s car and found a shooter-sized bottle of Jack Daniels. Aldridge claimed that the bottle was from an earlier instance. Officers then cited her for the violation that night.
