27-year-old tourist Colton McMillan was involved in a brawl near the Sun Diner in downtown Nashville early Friday morning after another man pushed him on the sidewalk. McMillan attempted to flee when officers separated the parties and ran when told to stop. A security guard tripped McMillan as he ran past, but he was still able to compose himself and outrun the officers behind him. As he neared the pedestrian bridge, McMillan fell a second time, and officers were able to catch up with him. He struggled and resisted as he was being cuffed and became extremely aggressive with officers. He told Officer Liquori she “couldn’t fight” and “did not deserve equal pay.” He was transported to Metro General to be cleared due to some scrapes from the altercation and then to booking.

As officers attempted to break up the fight, Smith and others fled, despite being asked to stop. When officers caught up with another involved individual, Smith approached officers in an openly hostile manner and attempted to interfere with the arrest. He hovered over officers and screamed while attempting to physically stop them from arresting his friend. Smith was extremely intoxicated and was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
42-year-old Darrell Dalton was released from jail Tuesday after posting a bond that was reduced from $10,000 to $2,000 by a Nashville judge. Court records show Dalton confessed to groping at least two women on the Rolling Mill Hill Greenway in downtown Nashville. Two separate women made complaints to MNPD about having their buttocks groped and smacked while using the greenway on May 27th. One complaint details he ran up behind the victim and “smacked her on the butt”. Dalton said in a statement to police that it “made him feel better” after smacking her buttocks.
