DUI: Allison Barner tells police she has to throw up after crashing in parking lot

23-year-old Allison Barner drove into Charity Marshall’s vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center on Thompson Lane late April 6th. Marshall called the police regarding the incident, stating that Barner exited her car, screaming, “I am drunk.” When officers arrived, they spoke with Tywan Easley, a witness, who said he saw Barner hit the back of Marshall’s car before driving over a curb and stopping behind the shopping center. Marshall told the officers that she assisted Barner to the bathroom after she exited her vehicle. When officers tried to speak with Barner, they noticed she reeked of alcohol and was unresponsive to their questions. Afterward, NFD personnel helped her into the back of an ambulance, where they had to hold her up to walk. Barner then refused to go to the hospital, so officers assisted her into their patrol car. She refused to take sobriety tests and told the officers that she felt like she was going to throw up, so they helped her get out of the backseat and over to the grass. Barner was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.
