In a Metro Nashville Police Photographic Lineup, Jermaine ‘STARLITO’ Shute was identified with ‘absolute certainty’ by a witness. He is currently out on a $30K bond until his court date.
From the just released affidavit:
On 08/01/2017 at 2026 hours, James Fletcher was shot at least once inside 1008 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37207 (Batter’d & Fried). During the initial contact with Fletcher, he reported to officers on scene that the shooting suspect was a local rapper by the name of “Starlito” (known to be Jermaine Shute). Via a photographic lineup, a witness at the location identified Shute as the suspect with absolute certainty. Surveillance footage collected from the business as well corroborates the account that Shute is the suspect. Shute does not have a valid hand-gun carry permit.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
On 10/12/14 I stopped the defendant for a head light violation and upon approaching the vehicle I could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. I then asked the defendant for his driver’s license and conducted a criminal history check on the defendant and discovered that he had multiple drug convictions. I then requested the defendant to get out of his vehicle based on the strong odor of marijuana emitting from his vehicle. After getting the defendant out of the vehicle I asked the defendant if he had any drugs on his person or in his vehicle. While outside the vehicle the defendant stated that he did not have any drugs on his person or inside the vehicle. The defendant gave officers consent to search his person and while searching the defendant’s person I could smell a very strong odor of marijuana emitting from his person, and discovered that he had a bag of marijuana (7.8 grams) hidden inside of his under shorts. Based on the discovery of the marijuana I placed the defendant into custody. Based on defendant having multiple drug convictions I charged the defendant with simple possession 2nd offense or greater and transported him to metro booking.
Starlito (Shute) will have to appear in court for these two new charges on 09/08/2017, and he also has a court appearance on 08/17/2017 to answer to the harassment charges
