25-year-old Dakota Daniel was charged with legend drug possession without prescription, no driver’s license, driving under the influence, and possession of cocaine after he did not stop at an intersection, parked crooked in a parking lot, and was then approached by police.
On March 17th, Officer Brian Dugre saw a vehicle not obey a traffic sign at the Wingrove Street and Nolensville Pike intersection. According to the affidavit, Dakota Daniel then parked catawampus in the TRAX parking lot located at 1501 Ensley Boulevard. While approaching Daniel, the officer noticed visible signs of impairment and attested that Daniel admitted to imbibing adult beverages before driving.
After an unsatisfactory performance on field sobriety tasks, Daniel was detained. During a search of his person, a bag was found in his shirt pocket and another in his wallet that contained a powdery white substance and residue. It was believed to be cocaine, and Daniel identified it as such and weighed approximately 0.7 grams. Officers also discovered a small bag of pills determined to be Adderall during a search of the vehicle. Dakota Daniel refused to submit to a blood test.
Dakota Daniel was arrested and charged with legend drug possession without prescription, no driver’s license, driving under the influence, and possession of cocaine. The no driver’s license charge was later dismissed, but Dakota was found guilty on the other three charges on March 18th.
