A Goodlettsville resident called police to report a person “dressed like a ninja” was attempting to break into his work vehicle. Officers quickly located 20-year-old Christopher Brimm nearby. Police say he was easily identifiable, as he was wearing all black clothing with a balaclava covering his head and face, gloves, and carrying a duffle bag with a headlamp style flashlight and large knives and a machete. Brimm stated he was homeless and sometimes “explored” homes he believed to be abandoned. He was charged with attempted auto burglary and possession of burglary tools after his bag contained various tools including picking tools, a Dremel, and pliers. A commissioner set his bond at $2,000.

COMPLAINT:
2021-0627142
ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
On 12-09-2021 I, officer Mooney, responded to the area of 411 Bass St. in Goodlettsville in reference to a white male “dressed like a ninja” attempting to get into the victim’s work vehicle. I drove through the area and as I drove past the church at 113 Church St. I saw a white male dressed in all black, with a black balaclava covering his head and face, wearing gloves sitting on the sidewalk with a duffle bag.

I approached the subject and placed him into custody. He had a headlamp-style flashlight hanging around his neck as well as a large knife stuck into his pocket. I searched the duffle bag and within it were two other knives and a large machete. There were more gloves and various tools that are associated with auto burglaries inside.

The tools were as follows: several small picking tools, pliers, a Dremel tool, as well as the knives found. The subject also had various clothing items, his wallet, two lighters, and a pair of headphones. The victim was escorted to our location and positively identified the subject, Christopher Brimm, as the individual who had attempted to gain entry into his vehicle.

Brimm stated that he is homeless, and he often goes to homes that he believes to be abandoned to “explore” them. Brimm was then transported to Metro booking to be charged with auto burglary and auto burglary tools.
