DUI: Matthew Odlum drives into concrete wall near Apple Store after drinking

37-year-old Matthew Ryan Odlum drove into a concrete wall inside the parking garage near the Apple Store in the early hours of March 26th. When the officers arrived, Odlum was sleeping behind the wheel, so they approached the vehicle. Officers reached through the passenger side to turn it off. Officers then woke Odlum up, and he was extremely confused. Officers identified themselves as Odlum explained that he was preparing for his trip out of town. As they spoke, officers noticed he reeked of alcohol and asked him to exit the vehicle. Odlum held himself up on his vehicle as he admitted to drinking earlier in the day but did not specify how much he had. Odlum consented to sobriety tests but could not complete them due to his level of intoxication. Officers discovered Odlum had a prior DUI conviction in May 2018. This requires officers to get a mandatory search warrant for a blood draw. Odlum provided two vials of blood and was detained. Odlum was taken into custody for driving under the influence 2nd offense.

DUI: Seth Andresen takes 120mg of Methadone before crashing Chevy Avalanche

30-year-old Seth Andresen had a head-on collision in his Chevy Avalanche at the intersection of Harding Place and Jonquil Drive in the early hours of February 22nd. After crashing, Andresen fled the crash and drove away on Harding Place toward Antioch Pike. Andresen was seen swerving out of his lane and seemed to have briefly fallen asleep at the green light before accelerating again. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. Anderson pulled into a nearby parking lot and exited his Avalanche before approaching the patrol car. Officers announced themselves and instructed Andresen to put his hands behind his back, which he refused. Then, Andresen began to push officers, forcing officers to use a takedown maneuver to detain him. Andresen showed multiple signs of impairment as officers Mirandized him. Andresen then became combative, refusing to have a conversation with officers. Officers spoke with Lisa Skimehorn, a counselor at a nearby clinic, who advised officers that Andresen had seen her about an hour before the incident. Skimehorn advised that Andresen took a dosage of 120mg of Methadone. After officers investigated, it was determined that Andresen was responsible for more than $1,500 worth of damage in the crash. Officers also learned that Andresen had a prior DUI conviction from Indiana in 2017. Andresen was taken into custody for implied consent, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence-2nd offense.

DUI: Jawon Paige has 1 beer at home before getting into car accident

24-year-old Jawon Malik Paige was involved in a car accident on Nolensville Pike on December 20th. Officers responded and observed Paige was visibly intoxicated, and he advised them he had one beer at his house a couple of hours before the crash. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample that resulted in 0.156% BAC. Officers noticed he had a prior DUI in Mississippi in 2020, and he was placed into custody for his second driving under the influence.

DUI: Heather Dudley drinks 1 glass of wine before driving around Hampton Inn

34-year-old Heather Dudley was disorderly at the Hampton Inn on Northgate Circle in the afternoon hours of Saturday. Officers arrived and observed Dudley packing her belongings to leave the hotel at the Manager’s request, who advised them that Dudley had tried to hit her with her car. They watched surveillance showing Dudley driving her car, but not an intentional attempt to hit anyone. She admitted to driving her car around the building, that she had one cup of wine, and that she smoked some medical marijuana the night before. Dudley consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. A subsequent search of her vehicle yielded a gram of marijuana in a bag with a prescription label and two glass pipes with marijuana residue. Records showed that she had a prior DUI conviction in Louisiana in 2016. Due to Dudley admitting to possessing medical marijuana and having a prescription, she was not charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. However, the medical marijuana and paraphernalia were logged as evidence of DUI. She was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license and her second driving under the influence.

Travis Garren goes inside Arby’s to eat after being revived by Narcan in parking lot

45-year-old Travis Garren was found unconscious with shallow breathing in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the drive-thru for Arbys on Gallatin Pike on September 27th. Police arrived and spoke with the Nashville Fire Department medics, who gave Travis Narcan and revived him up. The medics asked for Travis’s vehicle key to keep him from driving, and they said he entered Arby’s and bought food. Police contacted Travis as he walked out of Arby’s and asked him what had happened. Travis said that he did not know and was profusely sweating. After he performed poorly on sobriety tests, he told police that whatever the medics gave him was making him feel weird. Police placed him into custody, and he had to ask them for a towel to wipe his face due to excessive sweating. When police confirmed his identity with his driver’s license, they reported that he had a previous DUI in 2016. He was transported to Metro General Hospital for a blood draw. While there, Travis complained of pain and was still sweating profusely.
