Man, too drunk for Play Dance Bar, attempts to break out patrol car window after arrest

23-year-old Zachary J. Minton is charged with public intoxication, vandalism, and resisting arrest, after Metro Police say he was at Play Dance Bar when he vandalized a stranger’s car, pushing officers who were attempting to arrest him, and eventually attempted to kick the window out of the patrol car several times once inside.

In the early morning hours of January 23rd, Metro Nashville Police responded to Play Dance Bar on Church Street where they encountered Zachary Minton, 23, who was unable to answer any questions and appeared incoherent upon arrival. Play’s security made the call for assistance, after observing Minto kicking and vandalizing a vehicle outside the bar. They captured the incident on security video.

Police say Minton started his night of ‘heavy drinking’ on Demonbreun Street and eventually made his way to the bars of Church Street. During the attempts to arrest him, police say he used his body to shove them, kicked the back window of the patrol car multiple times, and used his body to make contact with officers multiple times to resist being arrested.

Zachary Minton is was booked and charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and vandalism. He is free on a $1,750 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in February.
