27-year-old Jonathon Spikner was charged with possession of cocaine, codeine without a prescription, and drug paraphernalia after officers observed a digital scale inside a vehicle while patrolling at Mapco on Murfreesboro Pike.
On October 21st, Metro Nashville Police officers were patrolling at 1090 Murfreesboro Pike in the back lot. Officers spotted three subjects seated in a vehicle parked in the Mapco parking lot. When officers approached the driver’s side window, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana.
When a scale was spotted, all three people in the vehicle were asked to exit for a probable cause search. Officers found a brown bottle of promethazine, otherwise known as codeine, inside of a black bag within the vehicle and a clear plastic bag with 15 grams of powder that was positively identified to be cocaine. Jonathon Spikner was read his rights and claimed ownership of the cocaine as well as the codeine. He was later found to have five active arrest warrants.
Jonathon Spikner was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent, codeine without a prescription, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. He also had active warrants for three counts of domestic assault, interference of a 911 call, and theft. He was released on a $22,600 bond.
