31-year-old Chelsea Brown was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Sunday morning, after police located her asleep behind the wheel of her vehicle, which was running and in ‘drive’, in East Nashville. When asked for her license, she presented a while ‘Simplicity’ credit card, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Brown was transported to booking and charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law after she declined to submit to a breathalyzer test. She is free on pre-trial release.
ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
ON 12/19/2021 AT APPROXIMATELY 0415 HRS POLICE RESPONDED TO SHELBY AVE AND S 14TH ST FOR A POSSIBLY INTOXICATED DRIVER. POLICE ARRIVED AT THE LOCATION AND FOUND THE DEFENDANT ASLEEP IN THE DRIVER SEAT OF HER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AND IN “DRIVE” WHEN POLICE MADE CONTACT WITH THE DEFENDANT.
THE DEFENDANT HAD DIFFICULTY PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO “PARK” AND REMOVING THE KEYS. THE DEFENDANT PRESENTED POLICE WITH A WHITE “SIMPLICITY” CREDIT WHEN ASKED TO PROVIDE HER DRIVER LICENSE. THE DEFENDANT WAS TRANSPORTED TO 1101 SHELBY AVE TO PERFORM STANDARD FIELD SOBRIETY TASKS. THE DEFENDANT PERFORMED POORLY ON ALL TASKS AND DECLINED TO PROVIDE A BREATH SAMPLE FOR CHEMICAL TESTING. THE DEFENDANT WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND TRANSPORTED TO BOOKING.
