Brittney Calhoun charged in “girl’s night out” DUI crash in East Nashville

30-year-old Brittney Calhoun told police she was “in town for a girl’s night and going to some bars” when they found her and a passenger crashed in East Nashville at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. She had driven her vehicle into two parked cars on the side of the road. Further questioning revealed that her drink of choice was Vodka & Red Bull, and she consumed “a couple” while at the bars. She says she blacked out and doesn’t remember any of the crash. Officers located two large Bud Light cans that were open and leaking alcohol into the driver’s side of the car, along with another opened bottle of alcohol in the front. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with DUI. Her passenger was transported to Centennial hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

71-year-old Margaret Gilliam attacks East Nashville neighbor with walking cane

71-year-old Margaret Gilliam is free on pre-trial release after she admitted to police that she, indeed, swing her walking cane in an attempt to knock out her neighbor, Victoria Ferris, striking her with the makeshift weapon. Both parties report ongoing issues over the past several weeks, and Ferris says she’s been intimidated and assaulted on multiple prior occasions. A witness, William Looper, was sitting on a bench and observed the apparent unprovoked assault. 

DUI: Woman found asleep behind wheel of running vehicle in East Nashville — Chelsea Brown

31-year-old Chelsea Brown was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail early Sunday morning, after police located her asleep behind the wheel of her vehicle, which was running and in ‘drive’, in East Nashville. When asked for her license, she presented a while ‘Simplicity’ credit card, and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Brown was transported to booking and charged with DUI and violation of the implied consent law after she declined to submit to a breathalyzer test. She is free on pre-trial release.

DUI: Man drives his smart car through Music City Grand Prix construction, nearly striking patrol car

29-year-old David Dreas drove his blue smart car into the Music City Grand Prix track construction area early Wednesday in East Nashville. Police say he was intoxicated, and nearly hit one of their vehicles after ignoring all signs to stop.

35-year-old Linda Fukui is charged with assault after allegedly attacking a man she was headed home with after meeting him at a bar. Police found the victim with scratches on his face, and hair pulled out of his head.
