Vandy Tennis Star Marcus Ferreira takes out bouncer at The 5 Spot in East Nashville #DownForTheCount

23-year-old Marcus Ferreira reportedly threw a glass bottle at The 5 Spot in East Nashville Friday, striking a food truck. A patron forced Ferreira to leave, but he soon returned. Bouncer Brett Rosenberg denied him re-entry, at which point Ferreira punched the bouncer in the side of the head, causing him to fall to the ground. While he was down, Ferreira taunted him, called him names, and threatened to assault him again. Rosenberg suffered a concussion and will miss work for a week. A warrant was issued for Ferreira, charging him with felony aggravated assault. He was booked into custody late Monday.

Martez Bell assaults girlfriend, shows her where he plans to kill her, breaks her arm while shoving her in trunk

This isn’t a scene from a movie, but it could be. Police say 37-year-old Martez Bell was riding in his car on River Road with his girlfriend, Brittany Garrett. They two were having a disagreement when he grabbed her throat to strangle her while repeating that he was going to kill her. He then pulled onto a side road and stated this was where she was going to die. He stopped the car and pulled her out of the vehicle, and ordered her into the trunk.

She resisted and refused and was able to get back inside the car and lock him out. As she fled in the car, Bell jumped onto the hood. Brittany instinctively stomped the brakes, causing Bell to fall off the vehicle, allowing her to flee the scene and call 911. She suffered a broken arm as a result of Bell attempting to force her into the trunk.

Ja’Naih Keys assaults boyfriend with blow dryer during an argument

Police say 18-year-old Ja’Naih Keys hit her boyfriend, Liddon Crutcher, in the head with a blow dryer during an otherwise verbal argument. Officers documented swelling on the victim’s face and a laceration over his right eye. Keys was transported to booking and charged with felony aggravated assault.

Steven Cole assaults ex-lover with a candle after she attacks him with hot rice

32-year-old Steven Cole was jailed Thursday on an outstanding warrant charging him with felony aggravated assault. His former roommate and lover, Laquisha Lacy, contacted police on May 12th to report a food fight turned felony incident that occurred two weeks prior, on April 27th. She says the two were having a verbal argument when he left the shared apartment and tried to come back inside, at which time he tossed things around the home. Lacy states she threw hot rice on Steven Cole. In retaliation, Cole admits he threw a candle at Lacy, striking her in the head. She had to be transported to the hospital for her injuries and required eight stitches to close the gash on her forehead.

Nashville woman accused of beating, biting, and breaking the nose of her boyfriend

27-year-old Lakelynn Bennett is charged with felony aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury after she accused her boyfriend of cheating and attacked him. Police found the victim with lacerations, a bite mark, and his nose pointing at a 30-degree angle, off-center to his face.
