41-year-old Maurice Booker was charged with criminal impersonation, criminal trespass, assault, and disorderly conduct after causing a ruckus and assaulting an officer at the Margaritaville Hotel.

On August 19th, authorities were called to the Starbucks inside the Margaritaville Hotel and were initially investigating a theft believed to be committed by Maurice Booker. However, when police arrived on the scene they found Starbucks management telling Booker to leave. Booker refused, and when asked for his identification he told police he was Eugene Booker and provided an incorrect social security number and date of birth.

After Booker was told to leave, he tried to use his luggage to hit an officer on the leg. The officer provided a warning and thus provoked Booker to get in the officer’s face. Booker was warned to step back and shortly given a push. Booker fell and was helped up from the ground and taken into custody. Booker’s final act before getting into the patrol car was to try to headbutt Officer Carlisle.

Maurice Booker was arrested and charged with criminal impersonation, criminal trespass, assault, and disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $7,000 but was later freed on pre-trial release.
