Rebecca Huffines charged in self-checkout theft at Walmart

47-year-old Rebecca Huffines is charged with theft after police say she walked into the Dickerson Pike Walmart, selected multiple items during a trip throughout the store, and failed to scan all of them at the self-checkout registers. According to Walmart’s loss prevention department, Huffines would scan one item while placing multiple unscanned items in a bag with it. Walmart reports the total amount she under-scanned as $119.95. She was stopped as she exited, and all items were recovered.

Madison Kroger Employees arrested after cashback fraud scheme — Zakkyah Boleyjack & Diane Colt

18-year-old Zakkyah Boleyjack & 37-year-old Diane Colt were both recently booked into the Metro Nashville Jail after having embezzled over $3,400 from a Madison Kroger. The pair initially worked together, where one would log in and create a cashback slip while the other would log in and pull the money. AFter Boleyjack was no longer employed, Colt continued the thefts on her own. In total, Boleyjack pocketed $1,080, while Colt took home $2,380 in cash. Both are charged with felony theft and are free on pre-trial release.

East Nashville Kroger employee confesses to stealing nearly $15,000 — Tavaris James

26-year-old Tavaris James was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Wednesday night, charged with stealing $14,733.45 from his employer, the East Nashville Kroger. In a videotaped confession, James admitted on most days he worked he would sign into the self-checkout system and issue a voucher for around $500 and then either cash it out or load it onto his own debit card or a chime card. He would then spend the money on himself and his family, which he often documented in his shopping bags on social media. He is charged with felony theft and free on a $15,000 bond.

TDOC Correctional Officer Trespassed from Walmart for Theft

Michael Hatfield was found to be under-ringing merchandise at the self-checkout at Walmart on Monday, and this wasn’t the first time he had been observed doing so. While Monday’s incident was under the dollar limit for Walmart to prosecute for shoplifting, he was formally trespassed from the store by Ashland City PD. Brittany Hunter was arrested on her 9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th theft charge on Friday, just before lunch. Brittany went to target on 4 days last month, and scanned the barcode of inexpensive items, believing she was getting away with it. However each time, charges were just being added to the previous thefts, and on Friday they all caught up with her, ending in her arrest.
