“Til death do us part…” says woman as she kidnaps her wife at gunpoint & strangles her — Alexia Dunn arrested

28-year-old Alexia Dunn is charged with the aggravated kidnapping and strangulation of her wife, Quenticia, after accusing her of having a new lover while the couple is preparing to finalize their divorce. Court records indicated she pulled a handgun on her wife and stated “we gonna die tonight, till death do us part!”, grabbed her by the neck and pressed her against a wall until she went limp, smashed her phone so she was unable to call for help, and when she was able to escape to ask a neighbor for help, Alexia physically picked her up and forced her back inside the residence. Alexia Dunn is free on a $35,000 bond.

ARREST WARRANT / AFFIDAVIT:
The victim (Quenticia Dunn) reported to MNPD police that she was assaulted on 10/09/2021 by her wife/defendant (Alexia Dunn) at 1046 Jefferson St #4 Nashville, TN. The victim made a police report on 10/14/2021 for the incident. There was no prosecution on the scene.

On 10/19/2021, follow-up contact was made with the victim. The victim stated that on the incident date, she was with the defendant at 1046 Jefferson St #4 Nashville, TN. The victim stated that she and the defendant were going through a divorce and they were supposed to sign divorce papers. She stated that the defendant confronted her over accusations of her having a new domestic partner. She stated that they were both sitting on the bed when the defendant kept accusing her of lying and they began to argue.

She stated that the defendant grabbed her by the neck and strangled her. She stated that the defendant grabbed her by the neck with one hand and pressed her up against the wall. She stated that the defendant was strangling her against the wall until she stopped “struggling and went limp.” She stated that when she woke up she was in a different location inside the room and thinks she may have passed out.

She stated that when she came to the room was “blurry” but she was able to see the defendant with a gun. She described the gun as a black Glock model handgun. She stated that at one point, the defendant pointed the handgun at her abdomen at one point and stated “we gonna die tonight, til death do us part.”The victim stated that she felt like she was going to die the night of the incident.

She stated that after the strangulation she had difficulty breathing. She stated that she had pain to her neck and back after the incident. She stated that she also had a headache for a week after the incident. The victim stated that during the incident, the defendant took her cell phone so she was not able to call for help. She stated that the defendant attempted to break her phone by slamming it into the wall and floor.

She stated that at one point she attempted to get possession of her Macbook to contact someone for help but the defendant pointed a handgun at the device and threatened to shoot it if she touched it. The victim stated that the defendant laid the handgun on the bed and she also sat down so that was her opportunity to run for help. She stated that she ran to a next-door neighbor’s apt and asked for help.

She stated that the defendant chased her outside, picked her up and forced her back into the residence. She stated that when the defendant heard that the neighbors may be calling the police, she gave the victim her phone back and left the location. The victim stated that the night of the incident she fled to another state out of fear and that she returned later to make a police report.

On 10/09/2021 at 0031 hrs, MNPD dispatch received a call from a third party who advised that there were two females fighting “real bad” outside and that the parties went into apt #4. On 10/19/2021, contact was made with the third party. He confirmed that the females that live in apt #4 of 1046 Jefferson st were fighting outside of the location and that he called police on their behalf.

There is probable cause to believe that the defendant committed Aggravated Assault-Strangulation based on the victim_s statements, victims strangulation signs and symptoms and confirmation from the third party that there was a domestic disturbance on the incident date. These events took place in Davidson County, TN.
