Adam Griffith charged with DUI after drinking at work party

36-year-old Adam Griffith was booked on the citation of driving under the influence on May 20th. On April 27th, medics called officers to Skyline Medical Hospital, advising them that Griffith admitted to drinking liquor before being involved in a car accident near I-65 North and Ellington Parkway. When officers spoke with Griffith, he told them he had five beers and about four to five shots of liquor at a work party, adding that he did not recall leaving there or being in a car crash. He consented to sobriety tests, during which he reeked of alcohol, performed poorly, and showed signs of impairment. He was cited for the occurrence due to being hospitalized.  

Kelley Zumwalt charged with assaulting son with cookware as he made dinner

53-year-old Kelley Lynette Zumwalt had a domestic altercation with her minor son at their Alpine Avenue residence on October 24th, 2023. On October 28th, 2023, Michael Lopez, the father of Zumwalt’s son, alerted the authorities, advising them that his son told him that Zumwalt had gotten upset because he had dishes all over the kitchen while making dinner. Then, he said she knocked off all the dishes on the counter, and one hit his foot, leaving a bruise. Lopez’s daughter, Lillianna Zumwalt, told officers she heard the dishes knocked onto the ground. A warrant was issued for her arrest. Then, Kelley Zumwalt was taken into custody for domestic assault on May 22nd, 2024.

Austin Bratton charged after assaulting man with beer can in downtown Nashville

23-year-old Austin Bratton was involved in a scuffle near 4th & Broadway on April 28th. Bratton and his friends were walking when they bumped into another group, sparking an argument. An unidentified male from the other group approached Bratton, asking if he had a problem, which escalated the tension between the two groups. The other male told officers that Bratton threw a Michelob Ultra beer can at him, leaving his clothes reeking of alcohol, adding that he was struck in the nose. Then, he advised them that he wanted to press charges for the occurrence. Bratton was cited for the incident. Bratton was booked on the citation of assault on May 20th.

Gavin Bellamy’s girlfriend jumps from moving car on way to strip club in Nashville

21-year-old Gavin Bellamy had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Danyel Coffey, on Broadway around 11:30 p.m. on March 9th. Deputies were called to The Federal Courthouse Building, and when they arrived, they noticed Coffey sitting and speaking with security guards. Then Coffey advised them that she and Bellamy were visiting from Kentucky and had drinks at a couple of bars on Broadway before getting an Uber to Déjà Vu. She stated while on the way to Déjà Vu, they started arguing and had the driver pull over so they could get out. They decided to walk to their vehicle instead. Coffey said their argument escalated while he was driving, during which he started strangling her and punching her in the face, causing her to fear for her life and jump out near the Courthouse as the car was moving. After jumping out, two civilians and armed security guards assisted her.

Police noticed she had several visible injuries as she told them she left all her belongings in his car, including her cell phone. Medics called her cellphone, and Bellamy answered but only said hello before hanging up. Officers could not reach him after multiple attempts, so they tried to use her phone to track his whereabouts. However, she could not remember her information and could not log in to “Find My iPhone.” Coffey advised them that she feared that after seeking help from them, Bellamy would trap her in their house and kill her. A warrant was issued for his arrest on March 10th. Bellamy was taken into custody for aggravated assault on May 22nd.

Ricky Kidd II charged with reckless endangerment after interstate crash

19-year-old Ricky Kidd II was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-24 West near Mile Marker 64.4 late Wednesday night. Officers observed Kidd speeding past them in his white Infiniti, making several lane changes without signaling before causing a collision with two other vehicles. They approached Kidd and detained him. Officers went to the other vehicles and discovered a 3-month-old with minor injuries from the crash. They spoke with Kidd, who admitted to seeing the police on the interstate, adding that he would not have stopped if they had activated their emergency equipment. When they spoke with the other drivers, they were advised that Kidd struck them while trying to change lanes. Kidd was taken into custody for reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

DUI: William Alexander crashes on interstate with two pounds of THC gummies & joint

27-year-old William Cagle Alexander drove a U-Haul truck into a concrete wall on I-40 East near Mile Marker 208.6 in the early hours of May 22nd. When officers arrived, they noticed the U-Haul truck disabled with heavy front-end damage and a white dump truck in front of it. They spoke with the dump truck driver, who stated they were working in the left-hand lane with digital signs, informing traffic to move over when Alexander struck the vehicle from behind. Alexander told officers he saw the truck and thought it was still moving despite the digital signs. During their interaction, they noticed he showed signs of impairment and smelled slightly like alcohol, so they prompted him with sobriety tests, which he consented to and performed poorly.

They detained him and searched his vehicle, where they located a 2-pound 7-ounce bag of Delta 9 THC gummies on the passenger floorboard and a partially smoked marijuana joint. After being informed of implied consent, he declined to provide them with a chemical sample, so they obtained a warrant for a blood draw. Alexander was transported to Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital and was taken into custody for driving under the influence- 2nd offense and felony drug possession.
