21-year-old Meghan Wise used the username “$megaweed on yo sh*t” in a Telegram thread named “615 Traphouse,” and detectives conducted a controlled-buy operation with an undercover officer at the Hamilton Church Road Walmart on September 22nd, 2023. Wise was advertised as “a runner” in the chat. The police began talking with her and set up a transaction to buy an 8-ball of cocaine for $230 on September 22nd, 2023. “Megaweed” and undercover agents agreed to meet at Walmart, and on the day of the operation, she stated she was driving a red Mazda 6. Then, officers spotted her car parked near the Lawn and Garden part of the store, closer to the back. A white female, later identified as Wise, aka “Megaweed,” exited the Mazda and walked to the front of the location. She then messaged undercovers, telling them she was there. Then, officers messaged back, saying they were already parked near her vehicle, and when she returned, she and the detective sat in the Mazda. They presented Wise with the money, and she handed them a bag with a white, powdery substance. After this, both parties left the parking lot. Officers tested the substance, which tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl, weighing 9 grams. They ran the tags through NCIC and found the red Mazda was registered to a “Meghan Wise.” After running her driver’s license number, the undercover detective positively identified her as the person in question. A warrant was then issued for her arrest on March 15th, 2024.
On September 27th, 2023, Midtown Hills CFIT conducted a second controlled-buy operation with an undercover detective at the Hamilton Church Road Walmart. Wise had previously sold them narcotics a few days prior. On September 24th, 2023, she realized she had provided a larger amount than discussed, so they set up another buy to pay off the difference and purchase another 8-ball of cocaine, totaling $550. Undercover detectives were in the parking lot when Wise arrived in her red Mazda 6. Then, undercover officers approached her, and after a quick conversation, she handed them the drugs. During the dialogue, the undercover detective talked the total price down to $540 before leaving. Once the transaction ended, officers tested the substance, which was again positive for cocaine and fentanyl, weighing 6 grams. An additional warrant was issued for her arrest on March 15th, 2024. Wise was later taken into custody for four counts of felony possession on July 19th, 2024.
