Ifrah Sultan recklessly speeds, tailgates other vehicles in traffic

22-year-old Ifrah Sultan was speeding past another car in the heavy rain and traffic at the Church Street and Interstate Drive intersection on the morning of August 3rd. She was also observed tailgating and going 45mph in a 30-mph zone. Sultan was booked on a citation for reckless driving on December 14th.

18-year-old Jeisser Portillo goes over 100 mph down I-40 in silver Infiniti

18-year-old Jeisser Portillo was booked on December 13th when a police helicopter observed a silver Infiniti speeding over 100mph on Interstate 40. Police caught up to the vehicle at a gas station on Nolensville Pike and Elysian Fields Road and observed Mr. Portillo enter the driver’s seat of the Infiniti, whose temp tags returned to a BMW. When police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Portillo “blacked out” his vehicle and sped off. Air 1 tracked the car to Antioch Pike, where police conducted a takedown. Wilson and the passenger were taken into custody, and the passenger was later released. Wilson admitted to not having a driver’s license.

DUI: Abbey Anderson drives on wrong side of road after having two drinks

31-year-old Abbey Anderson was involved in a car accident with Juan Mejia on Briley Parkway on December 3rd. Officers arrived and noticed Anderson’s vehicle facing eastbound and Mejia’s car, with front-end damage, facing westbound. Anderson was very confused when speaking with officers, and they observed her to be visibly intoxicated. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and admitted to having two alcoholic beverages at dinner two hours before driving. Anderson was taken into custody for driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Warner Earl Jones hotboxes car, caught with narcotics

25-year-old Warner Earl Jones was jailed on November 17th when officers spotted him coming out of a store and entering his car with tinted windows on John A Merit Boulevard. Officers watched him until he entered his vehicle and noticed all four tinted windows were too dark to see through. When they began to follow behind him, he sped off and made a U-turn, driving recklessly while other vehicles were on the road. Officers lost the car on the I-65 ramp. About 20 minutes later, officers spotted Jones and his vehicle on Jefferson Street as he entered a different store. Officers entered the parking lot and pulled right in front of the car, nose to nose. As he was exiting the convenience store, officers walked towards him. By the time officers caught up to him, he had already made it back inside his car. Officers commanded him to leave his vehicle, which he refused. They had to command him several times to step out. Once he did, a large amount of smoke exited the car with him. Officers asked if he had any drugs on him. First, he denied it and then admitted to having drugs in his car. Officers found a large amount of twenty dollar bills along with a bag of marijuana, a digital scale, plastic bags, 26.0 grams of cocaine laced with fentanyl, and 24.5 grams of methamphetamine. There was enough probable cause that the defendant was engaged in the sale of narcotics. Jones was charged and taken into custody.

Abram Kiroles booked for going 94 in a 55mph zone in his Toyota Camry

19-year-old Abram Nagy Kiroles, an employee of Subway, was taken into custody on November 13th for going 94 mph in a 55-mph zone on I-440 East in his Toyota Camry on the afternoon of October 27th. Officers observed Kiroles and conducted a traffic stop. Kiroles admitted knowing he was speeding and was then cited for reckless driving.

Xavier Daimwood charged with inciting a riot during intersection takeover in Nashville

19-year-old Xavier Daimwood was jailed on November 19th after a group of street racers took over an intersection near Century Boulevard. Hermitage Precinct officers arrested four men from out of county early Sunday morning after they were found taking over the intersection of McGavock Pike at Century Boulevard doing donuts and burnouts in a white Dodge Charger.

Officers arrived at 1 a.m. to find more than 60 vehicles participating in the dangerous driving stunts. As they were approaching the intersection, they witnessed a man fire a gunshot into the air around bystanders and vehicles. A traffic stop was initiated on the Charger, which was blocking the roadway, when it fled from officers going more than 90 miles per hour onto Elm Hill Pike. Additional gunshots were seen coming from the Charger during the brief pursuit. The driver, Xaiver Daimwood, 19, of Shelbyville, was taken into custody after surrendering to officers on Donelson Pike at Lebanon Pike. He was charged with aggravated reckless driving, drag racing, evading arrest, disorderly conduct, inciting a riot, and driving under the influence.

Travis Presley speeds down I-24 with child in car

26-year-old Travis Aaron Presley was taken into custody on November 11th for recklessly driving on I-24 in September. Officers observed Presley nearly rear-end a vehicle, cut behind that car, and in front of a semi-truck with a trailer, and speed off going 90 mph in a 55-mph zone. Upon contact, it was discovered that Presley had a female passenger and a 7-year-old in the car with him at the time and was issued a citation instead of physical arrest.

Joshua Tumnyni resists arrest; tells officers “That’s why we need guns to kill officers”

22-year-old Joshua Tumnyni was driving recklessly on Long Hollow Pike on November 5th as he sped towards the left lane that officers had blocked off due to a disabled vehicle. As officers waved him down for questioning, Tumnyni attempted to re-enter the right lane. He advised officers that he noticed their blue lights activated and that the only reason that he was attempting to pass vehicles in the right lane was because he was running late for work. Tumnyni then continuously refused to provide his driver’s documents to officers. He sat back in his vehicle in a defensive posture after being warned that he would be removed if he kept being non-compliant. Officers opened the door and grabbed Tumnyni’s arm, and then he began reaching towards the passenger seat, causing officers to draw their tasers. Tumnyni was successfully removed from the vehicle as he told officers, “That’s why we need guns to kill officers.” He was taken into custody for reckless driving, resisting arrest, and retaliation for past actions.

India Dismukes: 105 mph in 70 mph zone… “I was late for work”

19-year-old India Dismukes was booked Thursday afternoon on a citation from April 8th when police pulled her over in her black 2012 Chrysler 300 on I-40 after they observed her speeding. Dismukes was going 105 mph in the rain in a 70 mph zone. Her excuse was that she was late for work. She failed to appear on her initial court date to self-book, causing a warrant to be issued for her arrest.

William Sellars jailed after reckless driving on motorcycle in Nashville

32-year-old William Sellars was jailed Sunday evening after officers responded to reports from Air One that multiple motorcycles were doing burnout donuts in a parking lot on Old Hickory Boulevard. The police report stated that Sellars was using his vehicle in a reckless manner, causing severe danger to the public, as there were many individuals present during the time of the incident. Air One also advised that Sellars put black tape on his license plate and was shaking hands and taking pictures with the audience at the event. Air One gave police a description of Sellars’ motorcycle, and police were able to identify him and place him into custody.
