Jose Rodriguez allegedly threatens girlfriend with knife, holds her in room against her will

30-year-old Jose Enrique Gomez Rodriguez was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment on April 16th. At around 5:50 p.m., Emerson Armas called the police, stating that Rodriguez had a knife and was locked inside a room with Emerson’s sister, Karen Armas, who is also Rodriguez’s girlfriend, at their Martin Street residence. When officers arrived, they were let inside and went to the room, demanding Rodriguez to open it, which he complied with after a brief wait. Officers then escorted him to their patrol car and detained him. Afterward, officers spoke with Emerson, who stated he heard his sister arguing with Rodriguez, so he went upstairs to check on her. This is where he saw Rodriguez with a knife, which he pointed at him before closing the door. Then, Karen told officers that Rodriguez had called her when she was at work and had started an argument. When Karen returned home, she went to their room upstairs, where their argument continued. Karen then tried to leave the room, but Rodriguez pushed her aside and locked the door. During the investigation, officers recovered a serrated kitchen knife with a black handle near the bedroom door and turned it into evidence. Under Miranda, Rodriguez admitted hindering Karen from leaving their bedroom and holding the kitchen knife. Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.

DUI: Samantha Allen attempts to run over police officers in BMW i3, crashes into yard

38-year-old Samantha Jo Allen was being disorderly near Southside Place on the night of March 4th. When officers arrived, Allen’s friends advised them that she had been consuming alcohol before driving off in her black BMW. After a brief search, officers located her in an alleyway behind Southside Place, lying back in the driver’s seat of her BMW i3, fully reclined. When officers approached the car, they shined a flashlight through the window, causing Allen to jump up in her seat and become responsive. Allen exhibited multiple indicators of intoxication, such as having bloodshot eyes. When Allen noticed the officers, she began reversing her BMW, nearly hitting Officers Bene, Mendoza, and Ireland. Then, officers told her to park her car and exit, which she ignored as she maneuvered past them, nearly hitting them again before she fled. After officers searched the area, they found Allen near 9th Circle South and Olympic Street, where she had crashed her BMW into a yard, hitting a parked car. Allen started running away between two nearby houses until detectives pursued her and told her to stop, which she complied with. Allen was taken into custody for driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and three counts of aggravated assault on a first responder on March 6th.

Michael Morabito threatens to put child’s mother “in the hospital” over football game trip

45-year-old Michael Victor Morabito was involved in a domestic disagreement with Tiffany Travierso, the mother of their shared child, at Bridgecross Parkway in the late hours of November 29th. Officers spoke with Travierso, who provided a video of the incident showing she and Morabito arguing about taking their son to a football game in Jacksonville, Florida. She did not want him to go, and he kept saying, “Do something about it.” Then, Morabito tells her if she tries to hinder him from going, he is going to do something to put himself in jail and put her in the hospital. Morabito’s statements put her and their 12-year-old daughter in fear, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Justin Oakes charged with rioting after involvement in street takeover in Nashville

18-year-old Justin Oakes was jailed on November 19th after a group of street racers took over an intersection near Century Boulevard. Hermitage Precinct officers arrested four men from out of county early Sunday morning after they were found taking over the intersection of McGavock Pike at Century Boulevard doing donuts and burnouts in a white Dodge Charger.

Officers arrived at 1 a.m. to find more than 60 vehicles participating in the dangerous driving stunts. As they were approaching the intersection, they witnessed a man fire a gunshot into the air around bystanders and vehicles. A traffic stop was initiated on the Charger, which was blocking the roadway, when it fled from officers going more than 90 miles per hour onto Elm Hill Pike. Additional gunshots were seen coming from the Charger during the brief pursuit. Two passengers, Gharri Brown, 19, and Justin Oakes, 18, both of Shelbyville, were charged with rioting.

He was charged with aggravated reckless driving, drag racing, evading arrest, disorderly conduct, inciting a riot, and driving under the influence.

Lance Mankin charged with slapping girlfriend to make her be quiet

21-year-old Lance Mankin was arrested for domestic assault on October 19th at the Hermitage Studios on Central Pike. Officers were dispatched to a call regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Mankin, who stated he got into a verbal argument with Sydney Tousignant, his girlfriend, because another female was looking at him. Mankin admitted to slapping Tousignant because he was tired of her yelling at him about the matter. Tousignant told officers that Mankin slapped her because he wanted her to be quiet.

Megan Hutcherson jailed after violating order of protection

35-year-old Megan Hutcherson was jailed at Brooke Castle Dr. for a protection order violation on August 19th. That evening, Hutcherson was informed to vacate the residence until her court date on August 23rd. Megan told police that she was informed she did receive a phone call from DCSO while packing her things to leave. Megan sent a text message three hours after being notified to have no contact with the victim, violating the order. She was taken into custody and transported to booking.

Jamie Taylor to police: “I whopped the living shit outta him,” describing father of unborn child

24-year-old Jamie Taylor was in an argument with the father of her unborn child, Mahdi Aldarrja, late Sunday night when she grabbed him by the hair and dragged him through his home while punching him, according to a roommate witness. The argument was about her pregnancy, and she had reportedly been drinking all day and we highly intoxicated. Officers observed a large clump of hair that she had pulled from his head. She told police she “whipped the shit outta him!” but claimed it was all in self-defense. She was determined to be the primary aggressor and was taken into custody.

Kim William charged with DUI after crashing into a tree at campgrounds on Stewarts Ferry Pike

42-year-old Kim William is charged with driving under the influence after crashing his black Ford F-150 into a tree on Stewarts Ferry Pike early Sunday morning. First responders treated his minor cuts and bruises, and police say he was visibly intoxicated and had trouble walking with medics. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and explained he was dropping his friend off at the campgrounds, but was unable to speak on how much alcohol he had to drink.

Justin McCabe charged with DUI after late-night crash on interstate

41-year-old Justin McCabe was booked early Sunday morning after police found his black 2019 Audi crashed into the guardrail on I-40 with significant front-end damage. Witnesses of the accident said the Audi was weaving in and out of traffic approaching exit 221A and initially struck the back of another vehicle. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to Summit Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Police questioned McCabe for his side of the story, and he claimed ed that someone had hit him. He smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet. McCabe had pinpoint pupils that didn’t respond to light or other stimuli. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and became uncooperative and angry when placed into handcuffs. He then refused to answer any further questions and demanded to speak to a lawyer. He was transported to booking after a mandatory blood draw was completed.
