Spencer St. John too drunk for downtown Nashville

22-year-old Spencer Paul St. John was being disorderly near the corner of 4th Avenue North and Broadway around 9:05 p.m. on April 12th. Officers observed this, approached him near Margaritaville, and noticed he showed multiple signs of impairment and reeked of alcohol. He was deemed a danger to himself and could not provide information about where he was staying or if anyone could pick him up. St. John was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Jeffrey Hurd tells officers to “f*ck off” after he’s found passed out drunk on Broadway

60-year-old Jeffrey Hurd was found lying on the ground unconscious in the area of 7th Avenue North and Broadway on April 10th. When officers spoke with Hurd, he slurred his words as he told them to “f*ck off.” Officers identified themselves as law enforcement, but Hurd was still being aggressive. Due to the level of Jeffrey Hurd’s intoxication and aggression, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Mark Swayze falls over drunk at Nashville International Airport

62-year-old Mark Melvin Swayze fell onto the floor at Nashville International Airport in the early hours of April 4th. When officers arrived, they provided Swayze with medical attention. He refused to be transported to the hospital for any additional treatment and advised officers he had multiple alcoholic beverages on his flight from Dallas, Texas, to Nashville, Tennessee. While he was speaking, officers noticed he reeked of alcohol, so they asked him about the fall, but he was unable to give them any information. Swayze was deemed a danger to himself and others and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Billy Matabaro booked after threatening to kill person who robbed him, says he’ll “handle it himself”

32-year-old Billy Murhula Mataboro was robbed near his Whispering Oaks Place residence in the early hours of April 11th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Mataboro, who was stumbling around the parking lot and reeked of alcohol. They tried questioning him about the occurrence, but he was very “hyped up” and would not listen to them, yelling he had been robbed repeatedly. Then, while Mataboro explained what happened, he kept making threats to kill whoever was responsible, stating he would just “handle it himself.” Officers gave him numerous chances to calm down, advising him he could not make threats of that nature. After Mataboro finished providing his report, he said he was going to go over there and harm the other individuals involved. For the safety of himself and others, Mataboro was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Robert Mcnaney kicked out of JW Marriot, too drunk to verify reservations

27-year-old Robert Trainor McNaney III was taken into custody for public intoxication on April 11th. A concerned citizen alerted the authorities, stating McNaney arrived at Courtyard Marriott and discovered his reservations were at JW Marriott. They called him an Uber to send him to the right hotel and called the police to check on him because he appeared to be highly impaired. Officers were dispatched to JW Marriot, where they spoke with the staff, who said they turned McNaney away after he could not verify his reservations. The police drove to the Westin Hotel on Clark Place and located McNaney with ripped shorts, exposing his underwear. The hotel employees told them they wanted him removed from the property. Officers went to assist McNaney, who told them he had stopped at a gas station “somewhere outside of Nashville” around 6 or 7 p.m., adding that was the last thing he had remembered after blacking out from drinking, losing his cell phone and wallet, and forgetting where he parked his car. They noticed he reeked of alcohol and asked if he had anybody who could pick him up or let him stay the night, but he was unable to provide any information. McNaney was deemed a danger to himself and was detained for the incident.

Michael White Jr. caught peeing in dumpster while drunk on Broadway

45-year-old Michael Wayne White Jr. urinated in a dumpster near 3rd Avenue and Broadway around 5:35 p.m. on April 7th. Officers were driving when they observed a citizen pointing at White Jr. Officers then pulled over and approached him, who turned around and zipped up his fly. Officers then asked White Jr. to provide some form of identification, and he just stood there holding his credit cards after multiple requests. As officers spoke with White Jr., they noticed he showed numerous signs of impairment and reeked of alcohol. Officers deemed him unable to care for himself. White Jr. was taken into custody for public indecency and public intoxication.

Samuel Jennings angrily snaps door handle off Airbnb

49-year-old Samuel Jackson Jennings was banging on a door to the Airbnb apartments above Boot Barn on Broadway late April 4th. Officers overheard this and went to the noise, where they located him snapping the handle off a steel door. When officers approached him, he was very irate and showed signs of impairment, so they deemed him a danger to himself and others. Jennings was then taken into custody for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Lance Biddle bothers police on Broadway

35-year-old Lance Daniel Biddle approached several officers in front of Jason Aldean’s Bar on April 7th. He advised that he was intoxicated and wanted to address an issue regarding another officer who was patrolling a different part of Broadway. During this, he showed numerous signs of intoxication and made multiple remarks about being drunk in public. Biddle had sat down on private property and appeared to have passed out, so an officer conducted a wellness check, but he refused medical attention. Biddle added that he tried giving the officer the “benefit of the doubt” since he mentioned his wife was nearby, so he walked off but returned to confront him.

Then, after becoming irate, Biddle approached a group of officers about a block away to discuss the incident. Biddle said he wanted to speak with a supervisor, so they contacted one immediately. While officers waited, they tried to get a description of the officer that Biddle had an issue with, but he could not provide enough description for them and accused them of knowing each other after they asked for further details.

He then became frustrated and argumentative, requesting them to return his ID, which they did, and he walked away while shouting things at them. Shortly after, Biddle reapproached the officers, trying to engage in an argument. They told him repeatedly that a supervisor had been called to address his complaint. Officers Ferrari, Ehman, Prader, Pearce, and Diesel witnessed the interaction. Biddle was then deemed a danger to himself and others and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Jamie Thomas punches wife, security guard in face during incident at Westin Hotel

33-year-old Jamie Thomas had a domestic incident with his wife, Sharon Oring, at the Westin Hotel in the early hours of April 7th. Security at the hotel alerted the authorities, and when officers arrived, they advised them that Thomas was extremely intoxicated and refused to leave the property. Officers located him behind the hotel near some stairs and asked him what had happened, to which he replied, “Absolutely nothing has occurred.” Security told the police that he had punched his wife and a security guard in the face. Oring confirmed that Thomas hit her in the face but did not know if it was open or closed-handed. She said she was hit during the altercation between Thomas and security. Thomas was taken into custody for domestic assault, criminal trespass, and public intoxication.

Hunter Williams fights juveniles with his wife on Broadway after being kicked out of Honky Tonk Central

23-year-old Hunter Williams and his wife, Sabrina Smith, were seen outside Honky Tonk Central arguing with kids on April 5th. Officers observed Williams punching a lightbox outside Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row after he and his wife were kicked out. William seemed visibly irate and displayed several signs of intoxication. Shortly after, officers saw the couple across the street at Honky Tonk Central. Smith appeared to be calming Williams down until they both got into an argument with two disorderly juveniles. After arguing, a fight broke out between the four. Hunter Williams was then taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
