Dickson Police Captain Ronald Hobson charged in brutal assault during Kid Rock concert

56-year-old City of Dickson Police Captain Ronald Hobson is on administrative leave after being jailed in Nashville Saturday, charged with a felony aggravated assault that sent a man to the hospital. Hobson was attending the Kid Rock concert at Bridgestone Arena. According to a half-dozen witnesses who observed the incident, Hobson was standing at his seat neat the first row of section 102 and refused to sit down despite person after person telling him he was blocking their view of the concert. Another blocked patron, Gilbert Keifer, was two rows behind Hobson and also asked him to sit down as he was obstructing the view. Hobson then began a verbal argument with the victim. This quickly escalated as Hobson pushed him and grabbed him in a “full Nelson choke hold” before briefly releasing him. Hobson then grabbed him a second time and threw him down a set of stairs and over the railing. After the victim was on the ground, the police Captain then walked o him and kicked him several times while he was on the ground, unable to move. Police spoke with over a half-dozen witnesses who confirmed all of the events.

In a statement to Scoop: Nashville, the Dickson Police Department stated they are “aware of an incident involving one of its detectives at a concert in Nashville Saturday, July 8. Per department policy, Capt. Ron Hobson has been placed on administrative leave pending resolution of the investigation. A 20-year veteran of the department, Capt. Hobson is part of the Criminal Investigations/Narcotics Division.”

Drunken Donovan Filla jailed after playing in traffic in downtown Nashville

24-year-old Wisconsin tourist Donovan Filla was extremely drunk in downtown Nashville early Sunday morning when he began to run across traffic, despite warnings to get out of the street on 4th Ave near Broadway. Filla grabbed a traffic cone and threw it at a moving vehicle, and was almost hit by another vehicle. He was taken into custody due to his drunk and disorderly behavior and inability to care for himself.

Michael Kelley charged with vandalizing sign at Mellow Mushroom on Broadway downtown

42-year-old Michael Kelley was walking on the sidewalk on Broadway in front of the Mellow Mushroom late Thursday night when he intentionally kicked the foldable sign causing substantial damage. Nearby officers placed him into custody and charged him with vandalism. Store staff estimated the damage to the sign at $50.

Jennifer Bishop punches ladies in the restroom at Honky Tonk Central

Police say 50-year-old Jennifer Bishop punched several ladies inside the bathroom at Honky Tonk Central Saturday night, including an employee. Officers arrived to find Bishop extremely intoxicated and unable to care for herself. She was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication. The victims state they would seek prosecution for the assault(s) at a later time. Officers reviewed video of the assault.

Jonathan Miller — drunk, belligerant, and unable to pay bar tab in downtown Nashville

36-year-old Jonathan Miller was unable to pay his bar tab at Whiskey Bent Saloon in downtown Nashville early Sunday morning and became belligerent and attempted to fight with others inside the bar. He was escorted outside by security and became hostile with security and officers where were on scene. Due to his level of intoxication, Miller was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

Morgan Mills “falling into the arms of men she did not know” at Kid Rock’s bar in Nashville

Police say 29-year-old Morgan Mills was so drunk she was “falling into the arms of men she did not know” at Kid Rock’s Bar in downtown Nashville early Saturday morning. She was too intoxcated to care for herself and could not provide anyone to contact to assist her. She also couldn’t remember where she was staying. After refusing medical treatment, she was transported to booking and charged with public intoxication.

DUI: Gary Henson was “hostile and belligerent” during arrest with handgun and drugs

19-year-old Gary Henson was involved in a single-vehicle rollover on the interstate late Friday night. First responders report smelling alcohol on Henson as they interacted with him and noted his slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. Henson was “belligerent and extremely uncooperative” with police. He admitted to smoking marijuana and drinking “one beer” just before the accident. Inside the vehicle, officers found a half-consumed bottle of Crown Royal and a baggie of marijuana. Field sobriety tests could not be completed due to his hostility. Henson was transported to booking and charged with the marijuana, possession of a firearm that was found in the vehicle, and driving under the influence.

Ning Wang continues to show up at ex-wife’s home, refuses to leave

54-year-old Ning Wang is charged with aggravated criminal trespass after police say he showed up at the back door of his ex-wife’s residence on Tyne Blvd and refused to leave on November 2nd. He continued to knock on the back door, demanding to be let in, despite having not lived there in quite some time. Officers responded to similar incidents several times this year, the most recent in October, and Wang understood he was not allowed to be on the property but continued to return.
