Ana Vargas charged with reckless driving during rush-hour traffic

34-year-old Ana Vargas was booked this week on a citation from March after speeding through a red light during heavy rush hour traffic, putting other drivers’ safety in jeopardy. During the traffic stop, police discovered that Vargas did not have a driver’s license.

Carlos Romano Mejia charged with drag racing in Antioch

24-year-old Carlos Romano Mejia pulled up alongside another vehicle near Bell Road and Harris Lane on March 13 as they both stopped at a red light. As the light turned green, a Metro Nashville Police officer observed the two cars accelerate at high rates of speed in neighboring lanes as they raced along the roadway. An officer caught up to the 2015 Infiniti G37 driven by Romano Mejia and during the traffic stop he admitted to racing “a little.” He was issued a citation for drag racing and was booked on that citation this week.

DUI: Christian Dineen had 1.5 beers, CBD, & Delta 8 prior to crashing into two cars

28-year-old Christian Dineen was jailed on March 20th after passing out behind the wheel and causing an accident on Harding Place. The drivers of the other vehicles he crashed into told police that Dineen looked like he was passed out, which caused the crashes. First responders knocked on his window to wake him. When asked what happened, he said he was not in an accident and was okay. His eyes were watery, and he had pinpoint pupils. He had his 4-year-old nephew in the car with him. The other drivers were injured and transported to the hospital. After running his name, it was discovered that Dineen didn’t even have a valid driver’s license or car insurance. He refused to do a sobriety test because he said he “knows alcohol takes longer to get out of your system” he told police he drank a beer and a half around 3 am and had CBD and Delta 8 prior to driving.

DUI: Molina Wilson charged after near crash with a police patrol car

31-year-old Molina Wilson was jailed for DUI on Sunday morning when he almost hit a police officer while running a red light at the intersection of Nolensville Rd. and Wallace Rd. The officer could smell alcohol while approaching the vehicle. There was a box of Corona beer in the backseat with some containers open. Wilson never admitted to drinking alcohol but agreed to do a sobriety test and performed poorly. When he was asked for his driver’s license, he told police that he didn’t have one.

DUI: Nixon Agurcia Cruz continued to drive with airbags deployed after crash

21-year-old Nixon Agurcia Cruz was charged with DUI on Sunday after being stopped by police for driving 20 mph under the speed limit. The vehicle appeared to have been in an accident as the airbags were deployed. When Agurcia saw the police, he immediately stumbled out of his car, almost falling over. With the odor of alcohol emitting from his body, he admitted to having two beers before driving and agreed to sobriety tests which he performed poorly on. Officers discovered after running his information that Agurcia did not have a driver’s license.

DUI: David Alex — “my only mistake was drinking”

28-year-old David Alex was charged with drunk driving without a license after police responded to a rollover crash Friday night on Moncrief Ave. Police observed a black Toyota upside down lying in the front yard. While speaking with Alex, it was discovered that he had no driver’s license. He was unsteady on his feet, had bloodshot eyes, and smelled strongly of alcohol. Alex told officers that he had been drinking, and officers found several empty bottles of Corona lying inside the vehicle. Due to a language barrier and injuries from the crash, police did not ask him to perform sobriety tests. However, Alex did agree to a blood sample and was transported to the hospital. While waiting for his blood to be drawn, he stated, “my only mistake was consuming alcohol.”

Hailey Carney found in a stolen Camry with a baby, ecstasy, and Bud Light Platinum

Belle Meade Police Officer Wes Bowker responded to a license plate reader (LPR) hit on a stolen Toyota Camry as it drove through the mini city on February 15th. 22-year-old Hailey Carney was found to be driving the car during a traffic stop, along with a small child in the back seat. A search of the car revealed a small bag of what Carney identified as ecstasy and an open Bud Light Platinum in the center cup holder.

Jesus Jurarez cited after reckless driving and loud muffler on Nolensville Pike

21-year-old Jesus Jurarez was cited on five charges on January 7 as he drove his 2015 Camaro on Nolensville Road with a very loud exhaust as he passed a marked patrol car while accelerating recklessly. He was swerving between lanes, and a traffic stop was initiated. Jurarez had no license, no insurance, and an open beer in the vehicle. He passed field sobriety tests with only minor indications of impairment. He was issued state citations and was booked on them this week.

Peter Taylor charged with possessing a crack rock & push rod outside Nashville Rescue Mission

55-year-old Peter Taylor faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges after he spoke with Metro Nashville Police Officers at the Nashville Rescue mission in December. During their conversation about an unrelated charge, Taylor reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Officers say they observed a ‘push rod’ in his pocket and, during a search, also retrieved a crack rock. He was cited for drug possession and drug paraphernalia. He was booked on that citation this week.

Shacoryia Foxx booked on outstanding citation from 2020 for driving without a license

27-year-old Shacoryia Foxx was booked this week on an outstanding citation from 2020 which she failed to self-book on previously. Police say she was in a car crash on April 14, 2020, and did not have a valid driver’s license. She was issued a citation at the scene and never reported to booking, despite multiple reschedulings.
