Jacob Garza drunkenly screams, runs into street before resisting arrest

31-year-old Jacob Garza was running and yelling in the middle of the road near President Ronald Reagan Way late on March 6th. When officers arrived, a passerby flagged them down, stating that an intoxicated male, later identified as Garza, nearly ran into his vehicle on Rutledge Street. Garza was screaming and refusing to move for traffic when officers located him. Garza showed multiple signs of impairment and was deemed a danger to himself. Officers attempted to detain Garza, during which he resisted, pulling away from them and had to be taken to the ground. After a brief struggle, Garza was taken into custody for refusing to disperse, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.  

Mohamed Al Sabeel found overdosing on Fentanyl in Dodge Challenger

21-year-old Mohamed Al Sabeel overdosed inside his Dodge Challenger near Twice Daily on West End Avenue early February 19th. A concerned citizen observed this and alerted the authorities. NFD and EMS personnel arrived and found Al Sabeel foaming at the mouth as they pulled him out of his car and placed him in an ambulance. Officers were informed about the overdose and conducted an inventory search of the Challenger before it was towed. During the search, officers located a Glock 19 behind the passenger seat, and a white, unknown substance spread throughout the vehicle. Al Sabeel was transported to Saint Thomas Midtown for further medical assistance. The nurses told police that he was an addict who had relapsed on Fentanyl. Al Sabeel was taken into custody for possessing a weapon while being under the influence and driving with a suspended license on March 7th.

Alexis Rodriguez-Guzman slides into jail after shooting fireworks at MNPD Helicopter during Nightriderz Takeover

22-year-old Alexis Rodriguez-Guzman was taken into custody for reckless endangerment and rioting on March 6th. On May 27th, 2023, Rodriguez-Guzman was identified as a street racer who had been heavily involved in the Nightriderz Hosted Memorial Day takeover event. Rodriguez-Guzman actively participated in riotous activities, including sliding, drifting, and whipping his motor vehicle through the intersection of Nolensville Pike and Elysian Fields Road, where pedestrians were present. Detectives discovered that Rodriguez-Guzman was a minor host and a well-known “slider” within the takeover community. Officers deemed his conduct to contribute to the overall chaos of the events from that night, which resulted in the lasering of an MNPD Helicopter and fireworks being fired off at it. Rodriguez-Guzman was taken into custody on March 6th.

Dannel Kubi refuses to leave DMV after not receiving ID

31-year-old Dannel Kubi refused to leave the DMV at the Tennessee Towers near 7th Avenue North early March 6th. Officers arrived and spoke with Kubi, who told them he could not get a state ID and would only leave once he was given one. The DMV workers advised Kubi that he did not have the proper paperwork and could not receive a state ID. DMV workers asked him to leave repeatedly, but Kubi kept telling them he would not. Kubi was taken into custody for criminal trespass.

DUI: MMA Fighter Matt Carey falls asleep after causing crash on I-24 East

23-year-old MMA Fighter Matthew Carey was involved in a two-vehicle crash on I-24 East in the early hours of March 6th. Medical personnel were on the scene, taking the involved parties to the ambulance for evaluation as detectives arrived. Officers observed Carey walking unsteadily and were told by the other driver that he was asleep after the collision. Medics also advised officers that Carey had been drinking. When questioned about it, Carey admitted to having drinks nearly three hours before the accident. Carey was transported to Skyline Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. While there, officers Mirandized Carey, and he admitted to drinking at a work event. Officers discovered that Carey’s license had been suspended and informed him about implied consent. Carey then agreed to provide a blood sample. Carey was taken into custody for driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence.

Terrell Favors booked after police investigate suspicious vehicle on Broadway

29-year-old Terrell Favors was booked on the citation of simple possession on March 4th. On February 3rd, officers patrolled the Broadway area when they noticed a suspicious vehicle and approached the driver’s side. Officers asked Favors to exit his car, which he did and then searched him. Officers located a small amount of marijuana on Favors’ person. Terrell Favors was cited for the incident and booked on the citation on March 4th.

Sabrina Howard knocks the Jesus out of brother’s girlfriend during Bible study

23-year-old Sabrina Howard was booked on a summons for assault on March 4th. On August 31st, 2021, Tatiyana Henderson was visiting her boyfriend, Howard’s brother, at his Ragsdale Court residence, reading the bible on the couch. Howard started yelling at Henderson and punched her in the face. Howard then began pulling Henderson’s hair, grabbed her wrists, and sat on her chest, holding her down. Henderson had scratches on her right knee and ankle, bruises on her wrists, and a black right eye. Howard was taken into custody on March 4th.

Maryanne Best deemed too drunk for Nashville International Airport

51-year-old Maryanne Best lost her phone at the Three Casks restaurant in the Gate C22 area at Nashville International Airport early on March 6th. When officers arrived, they noticed Best exhibited multiple signs of impairment as she admitted to having drinks at two bars in the airport and having another on her flight to Nashville from Charleston. Then, Best changed her story, stating she only walked to the bars and did not order anything. The manager of Three Casks provided them with Best’s receipt, which showed her purchasing a double drink. Then, officers reviewed camera footage, showing Best having a tall drink at Tennessee Rickhouse before going to Three Casks. Best was taken into custody for public intoxication.

18-year-old Keydarius Thomas pulls gun on man multiple times during road rage incident

18-year-old Keydarius Thomas was taken into custody for aggravated assault on March 5th. On January 5th, officers were dispatched to the Kroger on Gallatin Pike South to speak with Richard Bridges. Bridges advised officers that Thomas approached him during a road rage incident and pulled a gun on him. Bridges further explained that the encounter happened near Ellington Parkway and Briarville Road, stating that he accidentally cut in front of Thomas. This prompted Thomas to follow Bridges to the next intersection and start an argument as he drove beside Bridges. During this, Thomas exited his vehicle and reportedly aimed a black handgun at Bridges before driving off. Bridges followed Thomas, and Thomas produced his firearm a second time. Thomas stopped at Kroger and fled after letting his two passengers out, whom Bridges approached to question about the incident. When investigators spoke with one of the passengers, he stated he did not know Thomas would “do that.” A witness said he saw Thomas hold a machete out of his window at the intersection but would not verify Thomas’ information for police. Officers conducted a photo lineup, and Bridges positively identified Thomas. Keydarius Thomas was taken into custody for aggravated assault on March 5th.

Jon Muse Iverson punches stepdad, pushes sister down stairs during multiple altercations

20-year-old Jon Muse Iverson had a domestic altercation with his stepdad, Tyrone Patrick, at their Tampa Drive residence in October 2022. Patrick reported that he was notified by his wife, Catina Muse, that Iverson was causing problems. Catina advised Patrick that Iverson was upset because they told him that his girlfriend was not allowed inside the house. Then, Patrick said when he got home, Iverson was unplugging a TV, trying to put it in his room, so Patrick confronted him. Patrick told officers that Iverson was high or under the influence of something and that an argument ensued, which turned physical when Iverson pushed him. Patrick said he pushed Iverson back, then Catina intervened, ending the incident. As Catina stood between Patrick and Iverson, Iverson reached around Catina and punched Patrick in the face.

Then, on March 5th, Iverson had a scuffle with his sister, Tameeka Southern, at the Tampa Drive residence. NFD Medics examined Southern and showed officers a small cut on her head. Medics advised officers that Iverson pushed Tameeka down the stairs outside of the front door. Tameeka told officers she did not wish to prosecute Iverson for the incident. When officers questioned Iverson about the altercation turning physical, he replied, “No, we just had an argument; nothing physical ever occurred.” Iverson added that he was unsure how Tameeka got the cut on her head. Iverson was deemed as the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for two counts of domestic assault.
