Nashville wedding venue Barn In The Bend went dark on Tuesday after the world learned it refused service to same-sex couples. The venue, which charges $10,000 for the average package, shut down its social media, made its website private, and was dropped from several wedding planning and referral websites as reviews, comments, and phone calls, came in by the hundreds.
DUI: Man found asleep behind wheel at intersection, admits to drinking — Jared Beard
24-year-old Jared Beard was found asleep behind the wheel of his car at an intersection just south of downtown Nashville and admitted to drinking prior to driving. Police say he agreed to a breathalyzer, a demonstrated he could blow hard enough, however, when his lips met the actual machine, he wouldn’t blow hard enough for it to register. He also urinated on himself multiple times while speaking to police, and in the back of a patrol car.

A Nashville magistrate signed an order of protection against Fisk University President Dr. Kevin Rome, Sr. after a man claimed he met Rome via the gay dating app Grindr and testified Rome had drugged him, threatened to kill him and destroyed his apartment.
