Kevin Garfias charged with DUI after speeding & weaving through traffic

23-year-old Kevin Garfias was speeding down Nolensville road and weaving between lanes early Sunday morning when he passed officers who were on an unrelated call. A traffic stop was conducted near Radnor Street, and Garfias was reportedly visibly intoxicated when speaking with officers. An open beer was also observed in the cup holder of the vehicle. He refused all field sobriety tests, and admitted to coming from a bar — but stated he did not consume any alcohol. Another bottle of open alcohol was also found in the vehicle during a search. Garfias was taken into custody and charged with DUI.

Faith Wilder says she stole from Carter’s for her kid’s Christmas & apologizes to police

28-year-old Faith Wilder stole from Carter’s in Opry Mills Mall on November 24th. Officers were flagged down by Aleko Szellan, the manager at Carter’s, and advised about the incident. They observed Wilder in a store nearby, matching the description provided, and detained her. She told them, “I’m sorry,” while admitting to stealing the items for her children for Christmas. Officers noticed a prior theft she was convicted of and cited her. She was booked on the theft citation on December 19th.

DUI: Roger Allyn drinks before causing accident in Ford F-150

32-year-old Roger Allyn was booked on December 17th after causing an accident in his white Ford F-150. When officers arrived, they observed Allyn lying on the ground beside the driver’s door. He smelled strongly of alcohol. Once he got up, officers noticed he was unsteady on his feet and unable to perform sobriety tests. He was then taken into custody and transported to booking. While in custody, the defendant refused to talk to police after being read his Miranda Rights and Implied consent. Officers attempted to identify the defendant but could not find a valid driver’s license.

Harvie Alay-Muralles drunkenly flees car accident

22-year-old Harvie Joel Alay-Muralles was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Bell Road and Blue Hole Road on December 9th. Officers arrived and spoke with the involved parties when Alay-Muralles returned to the scene. Witnesses at the scene identified him as one of the individuals in the at-fault vehicle. Alay-Muralles was observed to be visibly intoxicated as they Mirandized and placed him into custody for leaving the scene of an accident and public intoxication.

DUI: Annie Sitlinger drinks at work before causing crash

20-year-old Annie Sitlinger was involved in a car accident on December 7th. Officers arrived and spoke with Sitlinger, who was visibly intoxicated and admitted to drinking at work. She stated that she fell asleep behind the wheel, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. Officers Mirandized her, and she was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Union City Pastor Ezra Johnson charged with animal cruelty after leaving dog in car while shopping

48-year-old Ezra Johnson, pastor of the Greater Bethel Church of God in Christ in Union City, TN, left his dog inside his car as he went shopping inside the Opry Mills Mall in late September. Officers responded to a call for service regarding a dog locked inside a vehicle. Mall security opened the vehicle, and officers estimated the inside temperature to be over 100 degrees. The dog did not have water, had a muzzle on, and had been inside the car for over 20 minutes. Johnson told officers that he was in the mall shopping. Johnson was cited for animal cruelty and was booked on the citation this week.

Bailey Belcher drunkenly confronts girlfriend with handgun in waistband

27-year-old Bailey Christopher Belcher was jailed early Saturday morning after a confrontation with his former girlfriend and roommate, Kristen Leigh Peled. Police arrived at their Baby Ruth Lane residence just after 1 a.m., and Peled reported that she was in her bedroom when Belcher attempted to make entry by banging on the door while mumbling some words. She stated he had a handgun in his waistband, which placed her in imminent fear due to his level of intoxication. She ran to the bathroom and locked the door. The officer made contact with Belcher, who still had the handgun in his right pocket, and noted he still reeked of alcohol. He was taken into custody on multiple charges. 

Danielle Yelloweyes: “I might as well beat her ass for lying” …and she did

26-year-old Danielle Yelloweyes was jailed for assaulting her roommate after police informed her that her girlfriend, Janasia Williams, would be going to jail for a domestic incident that happened moments before. Police had responded to a domestic disturbance between Yelloweyes and her girlfriend, Janasia Williams, initially, but when police advised Yelloweyes that her girlfriend would be going to jail, she became irate and punched her roommate, Niya Frierson. She believed that her girlfriend was going to jail because Niya told officers about the initial domestic disturbance call. As a result, she attacked her in Infront of officers and said, “If I’m going to jail, I’m going for a reason. I might as well beat her ass for lying.”

Rohan Richards tries to cut off wife’s ear when he’s accused of cheating

37-year-old Rohan Richards was jailed on Mar 19th after allegedly attempting to cut his wife’s ear off. Faith Lavender told police that an argument had started because she believed her husband was cheating on her. The argument escalated, and Ms. Lavender asked Mr. Richards to leave several times. Instead of leaving, Mr. Richards picked up a knife and attempted to cut off his wife’s ear. He then hit her head on a wall and strangled her. The only visible injuries were scratch marks on her forearm. Mr. Richards was asked what happened and initially refused to provide a statement. After being told the consequences, he admitted an argument occurred, but nothing physical took place. He stated, “whatever she said I did, I did.” He was taken into custody and transported to booking.

DUI: Cainan Gatewood found asleep behind the wheel of his Jeep at an intersection

38-year-old Cainan “Kang Libra” Gatewood was charged with DUI early Monday morning after officers found him passed out at an intersection in his Jeep on Perimeter Hill Drive. Officers knocked on the window to wake him and asked him to step out of the vehicle. When Gatewood wood stepped out, he immediately braced himself and leaned up against the driver’s side door. He had watery/glassy eyes and alcohol on his breath. There was an open alcoholic beverage sitting in the cup holder within arm’s reach. He agreed to do sobriety testing, but officers had him stop before completion due to his level of intoxication; it was unsafe. A search within the vehicle revealed a baggie of meth.
