Union City Pastor Ezra Johnson charged with animal cruelty after leaving dog in car while shopping

48-year-old Ezra Johnson, pastor of the Greater Bethel Church of God in Christ in Union City, TN, left his dog inside his car as he went shopping inside the Opry Mills Mall in late September. Officers responded to a call for service regarding a dog locked inside a vehicle. Mall security opened the vehicle, and officers estimated the inside temperature to be over 100 degrees. The dog did not have water, had a muzzle on, and had been inside the car for over 20 minutes. Johnson told officers that he was in the mall shopping. Johnson was cited for animal cruelty and was booked on the citation this week.

Scoreboard Bar & Grill receives an 84 on health inspection — Music Valley

Health Inspectors found cooked chicken wings sitting at 50 degrees in a walk-in-cooler, and an employee admitted to adding wings cooked on the day of the inspection to the prior day’s pan of cooked wings and mixing them together. That was one of the many violations earning the Nashville favorite an 84 during their regular inspection Monday afternoon. Other violations included raw oysters stored in pans on the floor of the cooler, pans nested into each other without lids, raw fish stored uncovered, and the hand sink in the prep room wasn’t able to be accessed or used.

Tourist pulls AR-15 on security guard at Opryland area hotel — Travis Black

Security at Courtyard by Marriott Nashville at Opryland says they made 32-year-old Travis Black aware that his vehicle had been broken into as he returned to the hotel with his girlfriend, via an Uber. He then became belligerent, went to his hotel room and returned with a guitar bag and pulled an AR-15 from it, and told them “someone with a badge” would get shot.

Opry Mills Adidas Outlet employee charged in retail return fraud scheme — Kelly Etheridge

28-year-old Kelly Etheridge faces a felony theft charge after confessing to embezzling over $2100 from the Adidas Outlet in the Opry Mills Mall by pocketing money from fake returns. After loss prevention confronted her, she admitted to the theft, which took place over a few weeks. She is free on pre-trial release.

DUI: Man found asleep behind wheel of Tesla in Nashville’s Music Valley — Jarod Parker

Just three months after moving to Nashville, Metro Police found 22-year-old Jarod Parker asleep behind the wheel of his red Tesla at the intersection of Music Valley Dr & McGavock Pk. Officers say he was belligerent upon being awoken from his slumber and reeked of alcohol. Parker was charged with DUI and is free on pre-trial release.

Man determined to be too drunk for Gaylord Opryland Hotel — Robert Parker #VisitMusicCity

47-year-old Robert Parker was causing a disturbance at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel this past weekend. Security initially detained him, at which time he was being verbally aggressive toward security staff and Nashville Fire Department medics, who were also on scene. He was charged with public intoxication. It was not immediately known what event caused Parker to become disorderly.

Near-naked man fondling genitals in Club-Hotel hallways says he was with two women – officers found empty rooms.

Metro Police found 39-year-old Terrance Carter wearing only boxers and fondling his genitals with both hands at the Club-Hotel Nashville Tuesday evening, where he told a “bizarre and winding story about having two separate women he was with at the hotel”. Hotel staff reports he had been walking the hallways while nearly naked for several hours.

Man punches girlfriend’s dog in face during assault of girlfriend & female roommate

After cussing and insulting her, Justin Parsley’s girlfriend asked him to leave the room. Instead, he punched her dog in the face, punched his girlfriend in the face breaking her nose, choked their female roommate he had just returned from the bar with, then ‘laughed maniacally’ and fired 5-7 shots at them as they fled the residence.

Police seize 85 pounds of marijuana from Nashville hotel room

Twaski Adams, 37, was staying in room 2069 of the Sheraton Music City Hotel when detectives executed a narcotics related search warrant on Friday that resulted in the seizure of approximately 85 pounds of marijuana.
