Man claims Koala bear is sending electric shocks, knocking phone out of his hand — charged with misuse of 911

39-year-old Anthony Hodge called 911 fourteen times in two hours from Five Points in East Nashville Sunday night. He told dispatchers that a Koala bear was sending electric shocks to knock the phone out of his hand. He is charged with making non-emergency calls to 911.

Early Monday morning Jeffrey Carl, East Nashville resident and singer/songwriter, ran the flashing red lights at N 11th / Garland / Gallatin. This prompted a stop by MNPD, during which Jeff Carl was determined to be driving under the influence and arrested for ‘DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF AN INTOXICANT (T.C.A. 55-10-401)’. He blew a .11 and .12 on two consecutive breath tests during the booking process. NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHFUL: Nashville Fire Department Fire Fighter Joshua Payne was held up at gunpoint early Wednesday Morning. The incident happened around 0130AM, near 10th & Russell, a block away from Five Points. While the suspect is in custody, the affadavit hasn’t been released yet, we’ll provide more details as they become available.
