Austin Barrett awarded trip to jail after cutting line & starting fights at Kid Rock’s Bar

Late Saturday night, Metro Nashville Police were flagged down by bouncers at Kid Rock’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville. The staff stated that 23-year-old Austin Barrett was causing a scene as he attempted to cut the line to get inside and was starting fights with other patrons. Police observed him to be yelling and confrontational as they approached him, and after he refused to calm down, he was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Tourist Josh Petti punches citizen on Broadway in downtown Nashville in front of police officer

Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative Thursday night on Broadway observed 29-year-old Joshua Aaron Petti punch another person in the face on the sidewalk in front of Luck Bastard Saloon just before 11 p.m. Officer Coleman attempted to take Petti into custody but was met with resistance as he pulled away. Officers eventually took Petti to the ground to gain control of him, and continued to struggle until he was transported to booking.

Bevelyn Williams & At The Well Ministries crew arrested at Planned Parenthood in Nashville

Three protestors were taken into custody at Nashville’s Planned Parenthood location Thursday during a protest. 41-year-old Edmee Chavannes demanded to be let inside the private building so she could “preach the gospel to the staff!” She told officers she planned on telling the staff they were murderers and preaching to them. 31-year-old Bevelyn Williams was beating on the door, yelling to be let inside. 33-year-old Rickey Nelson Williams, who was armed with a 9mm pistol, told police there were people inside murdering babies and refused to leave. He explained his group had been at the Mt. Juliet location earlier and were escorted away from that property before arriving here.

Musician Luke Matthew Skeldon charged with DUI after leaving Flamingo Cocktail Club

Police say 28-year-old Luke Matthew Skeldon was speeding as he drove past officers on Nolensville Pike at 3:08 a.m. Saturday, when he was paced at 65 mph in a 45 mph zone. When a traffic stop was initiated, he was slow to pull into a parking lot and appeared extremely intoxicated during the interaction. Skeldon stated he was leaving the Flamingo Cocktail Club, where he had three mixed drinks before driving. After performing poorly on field sobriety tests, Skeldon was given a breathalyzer and taken into custody. The warrant details a 0.70 BAC, which MNPD confirmed was a typo, but they did not provide the actual BAC prior to publication.

Nashville Musician Rick Patoray charged with DUI after night of drinking at The Cobra in East Nashville

39-year-old Rick Patoray told police he drank five beers at Cobra, along with taking prescribed medication, before being pulled over for a traffic stop when he made an extremely wide right turn and went into the center lane, and then took nearly a half-mile to stop with blue lights activated behind him the entire time. Officers say he smelled of alcohol and was too inebriated even to attempt field sobriety tests. When asked to submit to a chemical or breath test, he would only state that he wanted a lawyer. Officers obtained a warrant for his blood which was drawn at Metro General Hospital prior to booking.

DUI: Nashville Firefighter Justin Blackburn says police shouldn’t arrest him, out of respect; just follow him home

29-year-old Nashville Firefighter Justin Blackburn was driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone on Dickerson Pike and swerving out of his lane multiple times as police pulled him over just before midnight Wednesday. Blackburn, who reeked of alcohol, made jokes about “eating cookies while driving,” denied drinking any alcohol, and later admitted his cookies joke wasn’t funny. After failing field sobriety tests, and as he was being placed into custody, Blackburn began to make it known he was a Nashville Fire Fighter and repeatedly stated he should be shown respect and the officer should just follow him home instead of arresting him.

Charletta Braden stayed in her apartment after eviction, beat employee with wooden stick when they entered

Bellwood Park Apartments says 43-year-old Charletta Braden was formally evicted from her Pennington Avenue apartment via the proper court process, and a few days later they sent employee Jonathan Haynes to perform a regular maintenance check of the apartment, which should have been vacated. As he knocked on the door and announced himself as he does when entering all units, he received no response. HE then used a master key to open the door, which Charletta Braden swung open from the inside, catching his ring in the key and pulling him inside. Braden had a large wooden stick which she used to swing and hit Haynes in the head, leaving him injured. He retreated to the office until police arrived.

Javier Villalobos charged after unwanted touching of a female roommate

36-year-old Javier Villalobos is charged with the domestic assault of one of his roommates, Norma Arteaga-Vaela. Police responded to the Antioch home after Norma says Javier came home while she and other roommates were in the kitchen, and they invited him to join them, however, he began to touch her inappropriately while asking her to grab him a drink. Norma says she told him to stop disrespecting and touching her, and he slapped her in the face in response. The other roommates confirmed the assault and Villalobos was taken into custody. After he was unable to post a $1,500 bond, he was given pre-trial release after 48 hours in jail.

Markus Higgs found unresponsive in downtown Nashville alley; assaults those helping him

In the early morning hours of July 1st, 29-year-old Markus Higgs was found unresponsive in an alley near 417 Broadway in downtown Nashville. As officers checked on his welfare, they could see he had slight breath movements in his chest, but either could not or would not answer any questions such as who he was, where he was, how old he was, or what he was doing there. Medics responded to the scene and assisted him to a stretcher when he suddenly swung at one of the first responders and began screaming at police and kicking at officers, making impact with Officer Wheatley’s chest. He was then cuffed, restrained, and transported to booking.

Chelsea Kelly fired 17 shots into the air while “celebrating father’s day & having fun”

28-year-old Chelsea Kelly is charged with felony reckless endangerment after admitting to firing approximately 17 bullets into the air Sunday night just after 10 p.m., as part of celebrating Father’s Day and just “having fun”. Jason Bond called police to report he heard the gunshots coming from the home directly behind their AirBNB. Officers drove to the location and conducted a knock-and-talk at which time she confessed. Bond also states he had “red laser beams” coming into the home when the gun was being fired. Officers recovered a Taurus .40 cal and multiple shell casings.
