Ciera Washington: Pens Letter to City over East Nashville Confederate Flag; Doesn’t Feel Safe in HER neighborhood.

Ciera Washington, an East Nashville resident and avid twitterer, has a lot to learn about living on this side of the river. Maybe she should reach out to Jennifer Ives, who also was upset by a flag in her neighborhood last year. East Nashville has always been a place of diversity, a place where people from all walks of life live together, with general respect for each other, even if they disagree. We’re proud to have neighbors from all backgrounds, from all socioeconomic statuses, whether they be gay, straight, bisexual,…

Is Your Handyman a Felon? Meet Billy Winkle

Every day there are new people popping up in neighborhood groups on social media, offering handyman type services, you let them into your home to do the work, but do you really know who they are? Many of us ask for references, but do we know if they have a criminal history, or are violent? Do we do the most basic of background searches before hiring them for a job? Do we care if they are licensed and insured? While none of that may be as cheap as a cash…

Back Alley Diner – The photos that prompted a 75 Health Inspection Score *UPDATED*

We recently received some photos that seem to have prompted an inspection by the Health Department for Back Alley Diner, located at 217 Arcade Alley, a frequent place that we visit when on that side of the river in downtown. An inspection on 04/20/17 resulted in a critical score of 75, and a follow-up score of 96 on 04/28/17, after they had time and notice to correct the Critical Violations. The question remains of just how long conditions have been this bad at Back Alley Diner (B.A.D.) – whose motto…

Nashville Fire Dept Employees Continue to Violate the Social Media Policy – Posting Incident/Scene Photos Online

A year ago, we told you about Metro Nashville Fire Department employees that were posting things on social media, in direct violation of the department’s social media policy, which we also published at that time. Over the past year, we’ve been monitoring over 100 publicly available feeds of Nashville Fire Department employees, that are freely available for anyone to view online, and we’ve found that not only do over 95% of them identify themselves as NFD employees (Firefighters, EMS, Engineers, & Chiefs/District Chiefs, in particular) – but they continue to…

Allen Hanback, of Nashville Fire Dept, Online Bullying, Sexist Remarks, Online Threats, Insults Transgenders, Gays, & says MNPD should assault more criminals, would personally assault Protesters – All While Representing the NFD Online

After last year’s issues with Tim Lankford & others within the department, some whom were suspended without pay, and all of whom completed diversity training after we brought their online postings to the public, the Nashville Fire Department made a very clear and very public statement, in regards to employee’s social media postings – Unless they were speaking on behalf of the department, their personal social media accounts should either carry a disclaimer that opinions are their own, and not that of the MNFD, or they were simply not to…

The DogSpot East Nashville: Weekend Remodel to Combat Complaints?

Overnight, The Dog Spot (East Nashville) began tearing down inner walls and barriers, in the dog play areas. Using crowbars and hammers, the concrete blocks starting coming down. Today, they’re going back up to create new inner spaces. It appears a huge remodel / new layout is currently underway. No doubt, this is in response to the customer (and city wide) backlash to a dog dying in their care recently, due to it being allowed to play with a much larger dog. Here’s some photos of the work in progress:…

Lyft CRL Agent Danielle Dame has Driving Crisis of Her Own – DUI Charge

Lyft has a special department to help their drivers that get pulled over, in accidents, or other emergency situations – it’s called the CRL, or Critical Response Line. The agents are staffed here in Nashville, and one of those agents here in East Nashville that normally helps others through emergency situations found herself on the opposite end of the situation. Meet Danielle Dame. On Tuesday, MNPD responded to a traffic accident, where she was found to be at fault at the scene. Normally this would be nothing newsworthy, just another…

In the past 48 hours, the company has shut down reviews and posts to several of it’s Facebook Pages, and deleted all comments left on current posts and photos, within minutes of them being posted by customers or potential customers. Then this morning, Nashville Exposed began to post photos of Employees of The Dog Spot, starting with the Mt. Juliet Location,…

Uber/Lyft Driver Kathy Haggstrom Tidwell – Takes CASH for rides, Bypassing Uber/Lyft App, Putting Passengers @ Risk

We’ve frequently covered Nashville Uber & Lyft Drivers that accept cash money for rides, bypassing the Uber (or Lyft) app, and putting their riders in danger, as they are no longer covered by any agreement, or insurance coverage. It’s becoming a major problem, and is illegal in Tennessee – this is why the TLC exists – you can’t just take cash for rides without going through the proper licensing, background checks, insurance coverage, etc. However, drivers still believe this is perfectly acceptable behavior, and continue to choose greed over safety.…
