DUI: Brandon Matute jailed after crashing into utility pole

22-year-old Brandon Matute was involved in a car accident in the early morning hours of October 30 on Briley Parkway. As the officers arrived, Matute told them another vehicle got in his way, causing him to crash into a telephone pole. Officers noticed the smell of alcohol on Matute’s breath as he admitted to having two beers, and when asked to perform sobriety tests, he replied, “It depends.” Matute reiterated that the wreck was not his fault, and he was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and was later charged with not having a valid driver’s license when officers tried to verify his identity.

DUI: Andrew Scott drives home speeding & dragging front bumper, totally oblivious

28-year-old Andrew Scott faces a DUI charge after police observed him driving just before 4 a.m. Sunday while dragging his front bumper along with him on the ground at 65 mph in a 40 mph zone on White Bridge Pike. A subsequent traffic stop revealed him to be the driver of the vehicle, and he told officers he was returning from a friend’s house and CookOut and eventually admitted to drinking both beer and liquor prior to driving. He seemed surprised there was damage to the front end of his vehicle, despite the horrendous noise it was making on the roadway before the stop, but eventually stated he might have run over a curb. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

Justin Burks charged with DUI after driving the wrong way on Interstate Drive

27-year-old Justin Burks was observed driving his vehicle the wrong way on Interstate Drive in downtown Nashville just before 1 a.m. Saturday. Officers followed him as he was unable to maintain his lane of travel and repeatedly changed lanes without any warning. During a subsequent traffic stop, officers say Burks reeked of alcohol and refused to exit the vehicle when ordered to do so. He was eventually taken into custody and charged with DUI and for the loaded firearm that was next to him in the vehicle.

Mt. Juliet man charged after being drunk & disorderly in downtown Nashville — Justin Lopez

Metro Police say they were dealing with a separate incident at 310 Broadway in downtown Nashville when 29-year-old Justin Lopez inserted himself into the situation and became incredibly agitated and became aggressive toward one of the involved parties. Police attempted to stop him as he aggressively approached them, but he tried to force his way past officers. That’s when they realized how extremely intoxicated he was, and took Lopez into custody.

DUI: Parson James found unresponsive after crashing vehicle into East Nashville dumpster

Just before 2 a.m. on Thursday, January 27th, Metro Police found 30-year-old Ashton Parson, better known by his stage name of ‘Parson James’, crashed into a dumpster behind the Checkers restaurant in East Nashville. He was initially unresponsive with the vehicle still in drive. Eventually, police were able to knock enough on the window to get him awake. He was reportedly extremely intoxicated and admitted to having a “couple of drinks” prior to driving.

On January 2nd, Parson took to social media to admit he struggled with addiction and declared himself an alcoholic. On January 18th he further posted that he was checking into a “mental health facility” to work on himself.

Matthew Cherry Arrested on 7 Warrants, including Joelton Church of Christ Burglary

Matthew Jordan Cherry, 22, was arrested early Friday morning on 7 outstanding warrants, including one that included the robbery of the Joelton Church of Christ last July. According to court records, in July of last year, Matthew Cherry broke into the Joelton Church of Christ  and stole property belonging to the church at 12:36 AM on a Friday morning. Jamie Ferrell was arrested on Tuesday morning, for DUI, after coming home from her company’s February Christmas Party at Top Golf. Jamie Ferrell was coming home from a Christmas party for her work on Tuesday (yep, in February), and sped by a cop doing 84 mph in a 55 mph zone on I24 E.
